We aren't deep enough on D to keep this HUNH going.

Just my opinion.

D has gotten gassed in both of our big games so far, with TOP at 2 to 1.

Maybe Freeze doesn't give a frick, and that appears to be the case, but I seent it.

I don't think it's just the depth. I think it is the play calling when we are ahead. This staff has not figured out how to call a game when you need to slow down.

Right before the half we tried to run the ball to melt clock. Well Bama had 3 timeouts. Why slow down the offense when it was clicking? I say be aggressive and go up 31-3. Only reasoning I see why they chose not to is they can't trust Kelly to protect the ball. For that reason I almost understand.

The D is gassing themselves! 3rd 13 and they get 14 in a soft coverage package that never works but is constantly employed! The D keeps themselves on the field! Don't listen to announcers as that's their mantra but never mention the 14 play drives! I have watched too many 3rd and 6 and give up 7. 3rd and 27 and we I've up 28! If it worked on first and second down hmmmmmm let's try third and forget that soft coverage defense THAT NEVER WORKS!

Honestly those are two of the best dual threat QBs we will face this season. Those 3rd and 10+ where both FSUs and Bamas QBs found a way to scramble for the first down won't happen against most sec QBs. I'm really curious to see what we can do against a true pro style QB in Eason this weekend. If we can contain him and force him into throwing situations I like our chances.

So I am going to be a sunshine pumper. In my lifetime Ole Miss has tried lining up and playing against Bama the old fashioned way. And in my lifetime we only won a couple of times. Even against the bad Bama teams.

In the last 3 years Freeze has beaten Bama twice and almost beaten them once. And these are some of the best Bama team ever. I am not saying he makes all the best decisions (trying to run the clock out at the end of the 1st half and not kicking the onside at the end) but what he is doing is working.

You also can add in this Bama team didn't look like your dad's Alabama. Their offense looked like our offense. Several side to side runs, quick passes. It wasn't the downhill running people have been accustomed to seeing.

this past weekend we really missed not having Fadol and Victor. Love Youngblood, but he is not athletic enough to play the edge against a DT QB. It also didn't help that Haynes ran up field several times and lost contain which extended drives. Got to have better edge play. Need a true MLB where we can move Gates to OLB. Conner had a good game but is playing like 1/2 the snaps he used to.

I place more blame on these losses on our running game. The running game is the only element of our game under freeze that hasn't gotten better. Every other position has at least been a strong suit for a season. Yes the defense is not as good this year, but it has been a strength in previous seasons.

Looking at you Matt Luke

I want to see how the OL plays this week against a solid team. The first 3 weeks they played a future NFL front had an abbreviated week and another future NFL front. They did somewhat okay considering how young the Line is (as in not a 2015 Florida performance). Also want to know who is calling the plays this year. I suspect someone took back over the duties based upon some of the decisions thus far in the season. If so I think he needs to give it back to Werner.

The OL is still young but getting there but it doesn't help losing 3 RBs! Lol

We don't actually run that much actual hurry up. No huddle yes, but only hurry up on a handful of plays. Danielson pointed this out on the broadcast. Our problem is that we score quickly in the first half leaving the d on the field and then proceed to begin the second half going 3 and out and leaving the d on the field and they just aren't deep or good enough to be able to withstand that.

No. Scoring fast is only a problem when the defense can't get off the field on 3rd down. It's not the offense'so fault if the D allows 14 minutes drives.

I'd agree if the offense scores in most cases. The problem is we have lapses (usually the 3rd quarter) where we can't get a first down. The defense doesn't have time to get a drink of water.

It's hard to run the clock when you can't run the ball. Hugh should ignore running the clock and just try to score as much as possible. The defense will have to create it's own breaks eventually.

Winner winner chicken dinner. That's what Louisville just did to Fla State. I say stop scoring when the ref physically takes the ball from you and says no more, it's done!

I agree but we aren't good enough on offense to slow down. We just need to go as fast as possible and score as much as possible.. Defense be damned

We aren't good enough to stop the HUNH. Our offense needs to go full on air raid all 60 minutes because no lead is safe.
