"MegaQuon" has been fantastic this year. He has broken every freshmen receiving record we have and still has a few games left to pad those stats. As you all know, Treadwell has done much of his damage on short and intermediate routes. My question is, why hasn't the coaching staff looked to get him the ball down the field more? He seems like he would be a great guy to go up and get the football at its highest point. Is it because he plays the slot often? Or is it maybe because our offense is designed around short/intermediate routes? Appreciate the input fellas.

Probably because we have better options for deep threats and he's so good at breaking tackles in short yardage situations.

This.

He's not as fast as some. Look for Quincy to be a downfield threat next year.

I think next year he will get some chances downfield with Logan and most likely Moncrief gone.

But this year he just isn't needed to.

You are the first person I've seen that thinks Donte is "most likely gone". Care to share why?

I'm wondering what both sides of the camp are basing their thinking off of. Has anyone heard anything one way or the other?

Moncrief is staying based off of his draft stock. Now will he go just because of his baby-mama situation and his daughter is the real question

He's consistently 4th and 5th on most expert's receiver list for the draft. He's not a first round guy but he's a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Lots of other WRs that are probably ahead of him. Mike Evansand Jordan Matthews just to name two in the SEC. I think he comes back.

I am looking forward to AttaboyJoe taking over James Logan's spot, but sliding into the slot so Moncreif and Treadwell can stay across

I think he was preseason but he hasn't helped his stock this year. He has to many drops and runs the wrong routes quite a bit.

I think DM has been more banged up than we have realized this year. He has dropped some balls I have seen him catch and I think it has been because of his shoulder. He is a great decoy and blocker that he was worth putting out there even if he isn't 100%.

Tell him to get Holder in the end zone against state while you're at it.

He is still the 5th WR on nearly every major draft board behind Lee, Watkins, Evans and Matthews. People keep saying his stock has fallen this year but it's really not. He's playing with 10x the talent around him this year than he ever has, his numbers are going to dip.

The biggest question with MONCRIEF has always been his knack for disappearing at times and that hasn't changed. He's still a NFL sized receiver with good speed and hands and elusiveness. Like Todd Mcshay said, he's not excellent at anything but he's very very good at everything.

I think if he thinks he's got a shot to go high second round then he's gone. Having a child changes your priorities.

Most draft boards I've seen have him going in the top 5-10 picks of the second round. Is that high enough? Only Donte will know and he will make the right decision for him.

Eta: Also who knows what could happen at the combine.

Landry and ODB jr could both move ahead of him at the combine as well... I'd take Landry's hands over Donte's any day of the week.
