There is one thing you are all missing regarding Mississippi State's National Championship

I don't have to explain the wild nature of Mississippi collegiate sports. Far too many times have both schools seen success only to be snake bitten by some caveat that seals the "long con" fate.

For the past few weeks, I couldn't think of anything that could pull me down from the 9th cloud that I have rested upon following our National Championship.

Consequently, I woke up at the crack of dawn this morning with a realization that stirred me to my core.

Ole Miss is going to win the National Championship in 2022.

It's the only event that could possibly turn this into a WAMS situation. I've run the numbers and it's the only logical conclusion to Mississippi Mayhem.

I do not bring this message with good tidings, but only the approach to objective reality and arduous premonitions. Good day and frick you because this obvious revelation with live with me for the next 350 days. Just creeping behind my shoulder, patiently waiting for its fruition.

Enjoy it while you've got it. I don't blame y'all in the least for milking it for all you can. It was just meant to be for you guys. COVID was your friend. It brought back your very best players who otherwise would not have been on the team and it eliminated the best team (NC State... I had to say this of course). Sometimes fate just ain't gonna be denied. I do hope you are correct about 2022. I'll believe it when I see it. I'm far more concerned about football first.

You hit the nail on the head. Our WAMS moment was winning the women's golf title. I just don't ever see Bianco winning it all if he hasn't already in roughly a quarter of the average human lifespan. I have nothing to complain about though.... I wanted a natty in literally anything, and golf delivered.

Thanks for the kind words BLD, but all of us on the OMSB know Bianco isn't winning anything while he's our head baseball coach. We will have a talented team next year, but will probably lack sufficient pitching to make a deep postseason run. Enjoy your 2021 CWS Title, y'all earned it.

Which is exactly why it's going to happen.

We are losing in our regional or college baseball players are going to go on strike in solidarity with their MLB peers, ending the season. The O.M.A.H.A specter still looms.

I thought about this the other day. It would be something if we won it all after state did. I dont think we have the arms to win it, but if we don’t make it to at least to Omaha this year, we never will.

I'll be honest with you, I feel better about our team right now than I did before the season. A few of our young/new pitchers have been surprisingly good. We are a long way from winning anything meaningful, but I hope your premonition is right BLD.
