there was still a lot absolutely atrocious play calling is and how sad it is that potential is being wasted. Imagine the OC at TCU or Baylor using players like Kelly, Stringfellow, Treadwell, etc.

ETA: My point was, we could be way better if we had a better play caller.

Man please.

You guys wanted to be able to run the ball. We are. Wanted Treadwell more involved, he leads the SEC. Wanted Stringfellow to get more touches, he did.

Everything wasn't perfect. We won a game we had to win. Stop being negative about everything.

That game was entirely a lack of execution, not on play calling. Kelly sucked arse today, our receivers were dropping passes, and our offensive line couldn't get out of its own way. We played like arse and won an SEC game, I'm happy.

We won a game that I had circled as a loss in the preseason. Let's all celebrate now.

Things picked up when we started getting the ball to Treadwell and Judd. I have no idea what Freeze's obsession with Wilkins and Walton is, but Judd has earned more carries. Please give that guy a shot because he runs hard and is not 160lbs. Happy with our defense. Haynes has been playing great lately. Gave up a few big plays but the one was definitely offensive pass interference. Win is a win and on to arkansas

I know. I'm starting to visit here less and less because we will be entering the month of November and 9 games into the season and we still control our own destiny in the West, have beaten Bama and Auburn so far this season and it's still just negativity.

Jelly looke off the entire game. Throwing every pass 100 mph. Gotta have touch on those screens give him the 80 mph change up.

Don't lob it or float it but don't try and throw through a brick wall.

I blame some of the drops on his touch.

That pass to Jeremy logins was idiotic too

Walton has for sure hands and has a little more wiggle. I called Judd a bust too soon. He has really come into his own the last couple weeks. Looks like the light is coming on for him.

And hopefully Conner gets well enough to play and man we could have a healthy team going into this final stretch of games where we don't leave the state of MS until we head to Atlanta!

Who are you rooting for/against in the Florida Georgia game? This game likely determines the East.

I'm not negative about the win. I'm negative about the fact that we consistently show how incredible this team could be only to hold it back by playcalling. Tell me, why was Treadwell only targeted once in the first half? Why is Liggins in as TE on the most important 3rd down.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic we won. I suppose I'm just mad because we are about to lose Treadwell to the draft and other key players and it appears we aren't using them as best we could .

I guess Auburn is thinking the same thing since they were picked as Nat'l Champ favorites. Difference is we are 7-2 they are 4-4.

Florida winning makes our loss better, but a meeting in Atlanta against UGA offense fits our D better than a UF offense.

Game shouldn't have been close and it wasn't our fault.

Both of the huge pass plays by Auburn had blatant offensive penalties.

The first one Haynes was being held very blatantly. I know there's holding on every play, but everyone I watched the game with (myself, an Auburn fan, a State fan, and an LSU fan) saw it and expected that play to come back.

The second one had an obvious push off on Elston.

We beat Auburn and the refs on the road today. I'll take it.

We have some dumb frickers in this thread. Apparently, winning in the sec on road is easy now and looking flawless doing so should be expected. Enjoy the win, fellas

We're running the ball a little better, but that ain't saying much. Short-yardage, we are absolutely atrocious. Red-zone, we are just not good at all.

Teams that play for championships do both of those things, and we don't. It's been 4 years, and Freeze still hasn't assembled a coherent running game. Will year 5 be the year? Year 6? Year 10? I don't know if the problem is systemic to his offensive philosophy, or that he just can't evaluate talent. Part of the problem, as most people with a brain can see, is our offensive line coaching continues to be a determent to our success.

Moving on...

I think we're lucky that we have Kelly, despite his mistakes. The dude can straight-up sling the ball. True, his placement might be erratic, but he's got an arm. Our receiving corps continues to be impressive. They're pretty much our team, and they rarely disappoint.

We're weak against the run, and I think the injury bug has hurt us in that regard. I think LSU runs all over us, and Arkansas may, as well. But I think a good portion of that has to do with us not being completely healthy. Early in Freeze's career he enjoyed favorable breaks in regard to the team's health, and this year has been extremely difficult with so many injuries. But, great teams figure out a way plug the holes and make plays. We'll see if Freeze is a great coach or simply a good one.
