I figured I'd start a thread for anything and everything concerning the NCAA investigation or any of its proxy suits/other (semi-)related matters, seeing that a former head coach is now officially suing the University.
Notable Ole Miss beat writers Dan Wolken and Pat Forde unsurprisingly were some of the first national guys to hop on the Nutt story (could it be a rag of a story? a Nutt rag?).
Personally, I think it's somewhat absurd for anyone who witnessed 2010 & 2011 to believe that Nutt doesn't have a job for any reason other than the nadir of those seasons.
But yeah, seeing that something related to our situation happens almost as frequently as a presidential tweetstorm, I figured our board could use an umbrella thread

I personally see no way Nutt's lawsuit has legs....the guy got canned from Arkansas, came to Ole Miss and basically wouldn't recruit nor control the team. He won with O's players but then didn't win an SEC game his last 2 years and when he left he barely had enough players academically eligible to field a team. All that is fact and what University wants to bring his arse in to decimate their program. Additionally, back in 2015 the narrative was exactly what he claimed it was. It wasn't until draft night things changed. So this is a desperate act of an idiot guy that wants to be relative.

So do some of y'all see that "these earth shattering" (said with tongue firmly planted in my cheek) were released this week for impact. That being said it seems it had its desired effects with some fans which I can understand.
In regards to Nutt's laawsuit, his lawyer is competent but still not sure how it has legs and can likely go away quickly. In regards to LL & KJ the most interesting thing is the guy who is representing KJ came out of retirement to represent him....and will give Merkel a run for his money....LL's lawyer not so much.

What the hell are you talking about? Read my Bible? What does the Bible have to do with anything we are talking about. How many times do you habe to state I GRADUATED from USM. Most of the people on here already know that. I was born and raised in Oxford. You seem to want to discredit my fandom. Smart people go to the school best suited for the major they want to study. Not to be a full time fan.
What has Freeze done? Absolutely nothing. Which is in part some of the problem. Freeze sent the stupid zass text challenging everyone and they momma to report any and everything daring the NCAA to find something. Freeze is the guy who under his watch allowed cheating with Leo Lewis with the freaking NCAA ON CAMPUS! Freeze is the man who flat lied to recruits stating that most of the alleged infractions were from the prior coaching staff. So please spare me on what has he done.

My feelings on the matter however are there is no one man who is above the university. How long do we ride this out and at what cost? When is it too much and we just cut ties and pick up the pieces?

At the time Nutt is talking about (prior to the 2016 signing day) absolutely nothing in the 2nd NOA was known about....so yes, the most egregious violations where regarding Nutt's tenure.

I feel like the actual punishment won't be that bad, but they're gonna keep dragging our name through the mud to get the desired effects. Little stories and allegations will keep popping up for the next couple of years until we have a few really shitty seasons and recruiting classes.

For what? Nothing changed except Nutt trying to go to the bank. Luke as interim HC? Are you fooking kidding me!?
