We did to our detriment. They kept two safeties deep all game, which should have opened up the short underneath passing game and the running game. Swag kept his eyes downfield all game and missed a lot of underneath stuff and tried to force the ball into bracketed coverage. He also zeroes in on one wr and doesn't go through reads like Bo Wallace. He needs to relax and find the open receiver because they way teams are playing us, there are open guys.

Oh please. Bo was the WORST about staring down receivers.

I'm not saying Kelly doesn't do it, but let's not play revisionist history here. 90% of Bo's picks happened because he made goo-goo eyes at his receivers the entire time.

I worded that poorly. Swag and Bo both stare down wr's. Bo was really bad about it in big games.

Ok good.

Sorry if my reply sounded snippy, but I've already seen Rebels going back and pretending Bo was this flawless beast because Kelly had one mediocre game.

Also, I'm not sure why we have the rep for not having a competent run-game. We're outrushing Arkansas and TAMU, and no one calls them unbalanced. I'm pretty sure Jaylen and Jordan are both averaging over 5 YPC. As a matter of fact, I KNOW Jaylen is averaging 6.3 YPC. And they're converting when we need them to.

I think the problem is we aren't running the ball enough. The guys are getting yards. If teams are going to run the two high we gotta run the out of it. Literally.

Would also like to see more of the bubble screen game. Freeze wasn't too happy with the play calling particularly on 3rd down against Vandy.

This is actually very true.

My wife gets mad at me all the time for getting a "tone" with her. I really don't mean to do it. I always tend to sound like a dick when I'm really not meaning to.

This could be an issue. I noticed it feels like we almost exclusively throw on 1st down now.

I find that funny because last season we bitched so much about Freeze running it up the middle for -2 every first down.

And we took steps to eliminate runs for no gain. More 1st down runs and short passing game when teams go two high safeties (which they will all be doing from here on out). Not everyone can keep safeties deep and stop run like Bama.

If our defense is getting worn out they should probably work on getting off the field on third down.

Touchdown drives never hurt your team, whether 2 minutes or 10 minutes. Yes the defense has played a lot of snaps; but our starters got plenty of rest against Martin and Fresno St.

This is it. Don't blame the offense for scoring quickly when the defense is letting receivers catch whatever they want.

I am with you on this. Our defense is on the field too much. Injuries are worrisome.
