One of my friends is good friends with him and his family and said he got a text yesterday morning from his mom that said, he was able to say his name and wiggle his toes yesterday, which they said is huge progress.

Received an email from the Austin Ole Miss club the other day coordinating efforts for meals for the family, rides too and from the airport and what not.
They attached this video of his parents on the news to the email.

Sounds like he's going to be alright, hell of a rehab process though I assume.

Very glad to hear this. Been wondering what his outlook as far as lasting effects was.

Ya I watched a documentary on HBOgo a while back about a snow boarder, that straight up fell like 40 feet on his face and had a massive brain injury and it chronicled the whole rehab process, rough stuff it is.

Saw that documentary too, The Crash Reel, and it was unbelievable. As a doctor, I was really shocked how far that kid came back from an unbelievable injury and that example certainly gave me hope for the Ole Miss student. Great news
