Please don't even start the Atlanta/playoff talk. We're 2.5 point underdogs going in there and they'll have this "prove ourselves" mentality. We're in for a fight. If we play clean and be patient, I think we'll win. But that will take some serious preaching from Coach Freeze. We haven't been here before. It must be very hard to let go of the satisfaction of such a win but we have to do it.

I didn't start any Atl/Playoff talk besides stating that we are right in the middle of it.

And to try and deny that and avoid that is just stupid. Because we are right in the middle of it.

Sorry that I feel this way but I feel like it needs to be said it needs to be known and openly talked about. We can't hide from it so that if it doesn't happen we just say "oh we are just Ole Miss I expected this"

Do you think Laquon, Tunsil, Robert, and Bo are afraid of that talk? Obviously they aren't talking about it but what do you think their goals are? Just to beat Bama and be done?

Realistically what do you think our players goals are right now?
I know coaches will give the coach speak and say we want to be competitive in every game and all. But you know damn well what they players are wanting/expecting now.

Again im not sitting here calling for threads on the rant and calling Finebaum about playoffs and ATL. But after beating Bama and being ranked #3 it is something you get put in the middle of and have to start dealing with.

What did. Freeze say in his 2012 Egg Bowl speech?

"All we need is a little help. We need YOU to come help us, and it's gon' be national championship time...right here...at THE University OF Mississippi!"

I think we know what their goals are.

I'm drinking with a buddy in Dallas and he reminded me of how many times I bitched about Wommack not being a great hire and a dinosaur (mostly after that first Texas game). I'm double fisting crow right now, homey is legit.

I'm changing my "kinda scared" to frick Aggie. We just have to show up with this D and we roll.

Let's enjoy a stress free weekend and easy win

I'm the kind of person who loves to watch the offense, but what Wommack has done with the rebel D makes me enjoy the defense more.

Hope he stays for a while

I'm so much more relaxed while our D is on the field.

This. By far my favorite part of the game is watching our D play.

Thank you. And no need to say sorry. Always been a frustration of mine with OM football. "But we finish 1st in partying!"

Cool. Let's finish 1st in football..."Dude Fashion" in the grove is cool and all (cough not) but I kind of like the football thing more. Ole Miss is getting a broader student body which is consequently affecting the program positively. Football is helping with that and the University in general. That W was huge for reasons beyond the conference and ranking implications. It was defining. I always hated that bottom feeder mindset and I'm glad it's gone. I'd like to think you played a sport or two and weren't just there for a jersey.

A nice write up on an Aggie site about MSU's defensive scheme and the trouble it caused the Aggies. LINK

I do worry that the Aggies will just pound the ball up the middle or dink & dunk their way down the field. Bo can be much more relaxed if he doesn't feel the need to score every time or every other time. Once/if he gets in rhythm, our offense should be fine.

That was a decent write-up and one thing I noticed in our game was what he mentioned, Kenny Hill throws off back foot or awkward a lot. I'm not sure he was use to having pressure. We rushed 4 basically the whole game and it was enough to keep him uncomfortable. That's all it took. I think our only sacks came from our LB'ers. Then I think it became mental with him and then the rest of the team had developed dropsies. Ole miss D will give him fits. But if he feels more comfortable at home, I think he could be dangerous.

One thing I disagree with that article about was running more especially the draw. State's D this year has been excellent and keeping the action in front of the first down marker. State doesn't mind giving up 9 yards on a 3rd & 12. Those draws were only successful b/c we allowed them the draw so they wouldn't beat us throwing. Our squad has been excellent at coming up and tackling this year. Our front 4 seemed to controlled the LOS. ***A&M Oline is good, but our rotation wore them down.

They have the same defense as last year but now they have a stud DE in Myles Garrett. I think this game comes down to Ole Miss more than it does A&M.

I think A&M's defense is significantly better than it was last year but regarding their offense, they CAN run the ball. I'm thinking MSU's quick lead made A&M focus earlier on their passing game and possibly made things worse. Ole Miss just needs to keep playing tough on defense, not turn the ball over, and capitalize on A&M's turnovers.

Treadwell and Cody Core are gonna have huge games... I've been saying it since Saturday... Aws long as our D is solid in the back 4 I really like our chances... We just held the first WR taken in the year's draft to 9 catches for 91 yards... He had less than 60 yards headed into their final drive.

I see some strides in the run game here. In terms of yards given up A&M ranks 102. Walton is looking hot. Wish we'd give Dodson more reps.

It looks like Bo can throw The Deep Post again. His throw to Engram in the 4th where Engram had his man beat and dropped - that toss was money. He was leading those WRs perfectly.

That 5 wide spread with Treadwell Sanders Engram Pack Core....

I like that trips formation we had so much success with last weekend... Kirby Smart hates it though.

I think so too. As long as Ole Miss keeps doing well at what it does well, chances are very good.
