Honestly think it would've been more embarrassing for Bianco had we not extended him. Now the egg is on our face. Needlessly extended a coach that no one else wanted.

The more I read, the more furious I am. Keith made a huge mistake.
Sounds to me like Bianco was assured probably by Skip and other former players he was the guy. Then the backlash to the news made them back off. The guy wrenching thing about all of this is McDonnell had probably been contacted and agreed to take over.

If Mike legitimately thought the job was his and he was already mentally in Baton Rouge, then I could see this next season being a disaster and probably his worst. He clearly doesn't want to be here more than anywhere else and the fanbase is tired of him at this point.
That all on top of us losing a lot of our production from this year means we are going to be arse next year.

Not sure McDonnell was going to make the jump. He’s good friends with Cohen but he and Lemonis are legitimately best friends, played together, coached together multiple times, godfathers to each other’s kids, etc… One of his kids is even in school at State. In ‘19, after our game with them, both were really emotional and vocal about not wanting to play each other. He isn’t going to take a rival job and have to stress that relationship every day on the field and in recruits living rooms. I know you’ve probably heard this before, but it’s a real thing and probably why he isn’t the HC at LSU right now.

I think if not for that, he would probably take the OM job. Somewhat of an accidental chess move, but I think Cohen hiring Lemonis probably keeps Dan out of the SEC West as long as he’s here. And he’s probably going to be here for a long time.

Bianco recommended it to Dan and Dan and KC were already in discussion. This thing got pretty far down the road.

If Ole Miss isn’t firing a coach then we will always extend. That’s the nature of 4 year contracts.

Ole Miss when they hear rumors about another program being interested in Bianco.

I wish we normal folk could be paid like the 1% for a two-decade mediocre career and a product even your target demo is fed up with.

At least LSU made a bad hire. I was about to say we now have a better coach than they do but that's probably wrong.

They made a strong hire. What makes you think it was bad?

State’s lucky arse gets to sit around and watch Texas and Virginia literally play into tomorrow and then turn around and play again if they win. Geez.

They made their own luck. They actually made it. We didn't. While paying our coach almost 1.5x what they pay theirs.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Texas beat them tomorrow and Saturday. They will have their #1 and #2 starters ready to go.

He only had two good years at Arizona and one of those was his first where he had a mediocre season but went far in Omaha with another coache's players. His 2018 and 2019 years were just bad. He's now headed into the toughest conference in America with no recruiting ties to the south. Very underwhelming pick for a baseball blue blood. I would still trade him for Bianco but that speaks to my opinion of Bianco more than this guy.

It’s a tainted CWS but the pressure on Bianco gets hotter with each passing day.
