I would've been cool with the hire based on sam houstons season if it were not for them getting completely raped tonight and their nonexistent offense

Especially against a tough defense,
What happens when you play an Alabama or Aranda LSU defense.
We will have better offensive players than Sam Houston, but they will have much better defenders than James Madison.

Just doesn't bode well

I thought maybe he played bad because he knew he was leaving, but then that would mean he can't coach under pressure.

It's not good for us to be questioning and have so much doubt in a guy that hasn't been hired.

I'm more interested in James madison's OC. It's his first year as OC after coaching WRS at ECU for several years. Clearly he's got a better offensive scheme.

Again, we should be interested in more proven people. FFS we are an SEC school

And he had a hell of a run game,
Also special teams when's mighty impressive.

Would hire their special teams coach on the spot, throwing some great blocks on punt return. And the punt block etc

I agree I'd rather have a more proven guy. My point is I'd hate to take a coach from a FCS team when he's clearly not even the best at that level

I couldn't even reply last night, fast forward eight hours and I'm still at a loss for words.

Wait a minute...which one of these coordinators are we hiring from last night's game? The one who scored 65 points or the one who scored 7?

It's almost like freeze doesn't care about saving his job. And I think the sanctions are a whole lot worse than what the University has been telling us for a year

Anything more on transfer rumors? I saw someone mentioned Lodge as a possibility?

I think you are jumping to conclusions. The last team to get a bowl ban was Penn State and they were raping children. Notre Dame had a trainer doing coursework for players and didn't get a ban. We can withstand the reductions in scholarships. We just need it to happen before signing day.

Freeze fired Werner already knowing he was going to hire Longbo. Hugh is so innover his head.

If an FCS OC who hasn't been put to the test or seen tough P5 defenses before is Freeze's OC pick, then he really isn't a good CEO type coach, or anything. Freeze really should just be a recruiting coordinator for schools.

Worst of all, watch them pay Longo an insane amount of money... instead of saying "Hey, this guy is FCS so let's just test him out first for only a little bit more than he makes now" - they will probably pay him double, when you could probably get him there for only 1 dollar more than he makes now because he is in the damn FCS

I'm really starting to warm to the thought of Joe Craddock if it means that we don't have to see Phil Longo on the sidelines. Or even Matt Luke.

is there any actual inside info that Longbo is the pick? Or are people freaking out based on a report that he's one of several guys Freeze could be considering?

Bruce Feldman had a good article on Longo back in October I believe. Gave his history and how he (Longo) was a disciple of Mike Leach and the AirRaid Offense, only he ran more. How he's such an innovator, etc

Longo is pretty highly thought of, therefore I will wait to see more rather than let one game totally write him off before he's even fricking interviewed.

An aside, this place has gotten worse than Sprivals boards. I'm not sure when/how it happened, but Jesus y'all have turned into a bunch of pussies
