My favorite mascot character is either LSUs tiger or Auburn’s tiger. The personality is funny. The costume is funny. Allows for the person in the suit to do funny stuff.

That's the most random and far flung "history." The bears are damn near extinct. I think we only have one female in the state that sometimes swims across from Arkansas. That bear was a PC move if there ever was one. The rumor is that most people voted for landshark back then but it was already predetermined to have a bear. Do you really think that most people that voted, voted for a damn bear?

I think we should build a shark tunnel for teams to walk through to get into the stadium. Imagine having to walk through a tunnel with tiger sharks swimming over your head to get into the Vaught. On non-gamedays have it set up to where visitors can pay to walk through. I’m sure the marine biology department would love having a shark habitat on campus.
ETA: start feeding them so there’s blood in the water right as the other team is walking through. I’m sure a shark tank built into the stadium would be cheap

Let’s be honest PETA would sue and beat us in court because WAOM. Then the judge in an unprecedented move orders us to exhume any confederate dead on or around the campus and ritualistically sacrifice their remains to Cthulhu.

It could be done with video screens for less money and maintenance. It wouldn't be cheap, but 110 inch big screens along the tunnel would give the same effect.
Frame them up to look like an aquarium and there you go.
For full effect do the floor and ceiling and cover it all in Plexiglas.
Someone give Ross a call and get him on this.

It’s hilariously awful in a good way, it looks stupid and is unique which is exactly what a mascot should be.

It could have been worse. I still think to get the fanbase to buy in you need a live shark.
