If Ole Miss went 12-1 and played in the CFB playoffs...he gone. He'd be a idiot to come back. The qb field this year is extremely weak. He has a NFL arm.

I'm not stupid enough to be critical of a current administration on a message board even if I have tenure . Hilpert left the university in a mess . Budget cuts had to be made and programs were eliminated where there were only a handful of students majoring in that degree program . Several programs had 10 students or less . We got raises this year for the first time in many years . I think laforge is doing a good job . I have about 5 more years here, been here about 21 years . Phd from ole miss . Been an ole miss fan since 1961. I'll leave it at that .

Four QBs could go in the first round, and two are surefire bets to go in the first round, champ.

Connor Cook
Jared Goff
Cardele Jones
Christian Hackenberg

Would be interesting to see what he would do under the current staff.

Jones and Hackenburg have looked garbage this year, champ. His comp would be Goff and Cook and maybe Lynch throws his name in the hat with his size.

If Ole Miss is 12-1 and playing in the playoffs you can bet Kelly is a Heisman finalist. I'm not saying any of this will happen, but there is no way Kelly would come back if it did.

Key word there, "if."

How about if we're 9-3 or 10-2 and he has 25 TDs and 12 INTs? That's much more likely than 12-1 and him torching the SEC West.

I don't see what's laughable about that. You don't think it would be "interesting?"

Just because they've looked like garbage doesn't mean they won't get drafted in the first round.

Hell, Sam Bradford was injured his entire junior season and was still the #1 overall draft pick.

Well if he or any of those guys who aren't seniors has that kind of year they aren't going in the 1st round. That goes without saying. He doesn't have to torch the SEC. Not even sure what that equates to anyway. If he continues at his current pace and Ole Miss continues to win..IMO he gone. Its ok not to agree. I just don't see why he would return.

As far as off the field, by that time ESPN would have pumped so much of the redemption narrative into his story you'd be sick of hearing it. Not only would it be a huge win for Kelly but a win for Hugh Freeze for taking the shot and it not coming back to bite him.

I just don't think Kelly is an NFL talent.

Then again, I have been wrong before.

I could see him getting a later round draft grade and leaving because he's either not happy with the play calling (if his uncle is representative) or because of the offensive talent leaving.

he's got the 3rd highest quarterback rating of any NCAA division 1 school in the country right now. of course, there is the argument that Ole Miss has not played the hard part of their schedule yet. I think he has a pretty decent chance of playing in the NFL

I could see it if it was the play calling, but the WR group will still be very good next year, and the OL will be as good or better then what he has had to play with the first 6 games this year. The defense is what is taking a massive hit next year. We will look like Memphis next year and if we have any chance at all in games it will be because we outscored them.
