and Troy

Well he knows how to beat LSU. He was also the assistant HC at Troy. Looks like a good hire

Looks like a good hire. Hopefully he can come in right now and close some LB recruits.

Beyond being what seems like a good coach he has coordinator experience which I like it.

I don't know much about him other than reading where he has been recently and what his defenses have been ranked, but I'm not mad at this hire. Hopefully he recruits well. Is he supposed to be a good recruiter?

He's got experience recruiting New Orleans and Alabama (Presumably MS as well) so that's a plus for me. It would be nice to get more players from NO.

As long as he can evaluate players for their instincts and intentions.

The 1st issue the LB group is faced with now, is the lack of ability to play on instinct.

The 2nd issue is their intentions when they do find the ball.

We need guys who can naturally play the position, and who like to arrive with the worst intentions possible when they make a tackle.

I just wish for once, a 5 star LB would come here and anchor the middle of the defense for 3 years instead of riding the bench at bama

Troy's defense had some impressive stats last year. 1st in the country in red zone defense. Sumrall also coached special teams.

We are adding some depth at LB this spring with some redshirt and true freshmen, plus a JuCo guy. Nakobe Dean is the next blue chip LB in-state for 2019.
