It's really what we all deserve

Ok, this surely is a heck of a way for a guy to introduce himself. First post. After the blazing I'm about to get, might not be a 2nd. Been reading the forum for years, just registered to post. Born in Oxford, lifelong family there, played ball at Delta State. Love Ole Miss, even when I don't want to.
First observation: Fans who only love when the team is winning: You're not fans. Go away. No loss to anyone involved.
Second: Don't blame these kids one bit, one minute. Even receivers who give up on an interception. These are KIDS. And virtually every single ADULT in Oxford, MS has let every single KID on this program down in too many ways to count and to a degree impossible to measure. What the OM coaching staff, administrators, boosters, and - YES - fans, have done to these kids is frickin CRIMINAL. That they even dress out is more than is deserved. That they come to practice and sweat ONE DROP after being totally abandoned by everyone whose job it is to PROTECT THEM is more than is deserved.
Third: The NCAA is an insanely out of control and corrupt organization - its own judge, jury, and executioner with almost ZERO oversight - and the way Ole Miss and its well-heeled alumni have allowed this public beheading without so much as a demonstration on the Oxford square says more than I can.
Finally - and my main point: WHAT DID YOU EXPECT WHEN OLE MISS SOLD IT'S SOUL???
"You want to take away my flag? Uh, otay."
"You want to take away my mascot? Uh, otay."
"You want to take away my music? Uh, otay."
"So let me make sure I have this right: You want to gut the university, really, then...you want us to give up everything that makes us who we are...our history...our heritage...our very IDENTITY?
UH....OTAY"
Flame away. But before, during, or after...just THINK 5 minutes about all this.

Welcome to the Board.. nice Melt

The Russian judge awards you an 8.5. You could have rated higher in the Melt scale had you used well placed self depreciating humor and lacked strategically placed curse words to be a 10.

LOL you sound like a bitch

These are KIDS
Don't act like these are some poor 13-14 year old teenagers who are too sensitive to hear the cold hard truth

You could've start with "I'm one of the rebel flag / bring back colonel reb/ bring back dixie people" so I could've skipped the rest of the post instead of saving the agenda for the end of the post

We scored 43 points on Bama last year... What was the biggest change??
Until we stop playing daddy ball and kick Luke's and all his asst coaches arse out of the state of Mississippi...We are going to be shite..
He could not win at Lafayette High school. For real... And he is the captain leading the way at Ole Miss in the SEC West??? Get the phuck out of here...

The frick does any of the last part of your post have to do with getting beat by Bama by 63 points?

Ole Miss football hasn't been consistently good since the early 60's. When did the band stop playing Dixie?

This melt gets funnier each time I read it

Well, clearly that post fell sorta flat.
Gimme another chance!
Melt #2
[apologies up front for how darn long this surely will be; you may want to spare yourself and just stop now. nothing I've got to say is very important]
I don't know how many coaches or teachers there are here, but the idea that these are grown men because they are voting age isn't realistic. Some of these guys won't be grown men their entire lives, much less at age 20. They (most anyway, and certainly as a team) desperately need good leadership and a solid support system.
And if you've been part of a college team sport you've witnessed that these guys aren't all highly intelligent, self-possessed, well-adjusted people. Take a look at the mayhem around them. Try to appreciate the effects of all the uncertainty (NCAA decisions) in addition to the certainty (bowl ban, self-imposed sanctions, ugly HC resignation, humiliating defeat, etc). Did a single one of them sign up for what is going on now? We can be self-righteous about their duty or responsibility or adjusting to adversity, but it won't change the reality of what they are experiencing and the ways it can manifest in the absence of powerful leadership, especially in young people without a lot of life experience.
All I'm saying is give these young men a break. This is an institution-wide, fanbase-wide problem. Perhaps that should have been my entire post. In addition to being a "bitch" I'm also infamously long-winded.
And all this may sound...what was it?..."turdish?", but c'mon...at least be fair. There's plenty going around. Other threads are full of it, too, and I'll admit I got a bit emotional at others' emotionalism. Folks advising nobody attend another game, entire thread insulting a player, guys writing off football altogether, the heads of the entire staff being called for. We all experience it. This stuff strikes deep because WE CARE. There's nothing less rational than a rabid college football fan. People kill for less.
I'll give my "agenda" a rest. Obviously not the place or time. But I do think there's a correlation between the very significant changes to OM's culture and identity, as expressed through various symbolism, and the situation now at hand. And it's not about W's and L's. Those are just the details. The larger story is the comprehensive administrative failure, the buckling of the entire foundation. And none of that is on the players.
Now...having all that out of my system:
FIRE LUKE!!!!
Gimme another chance!

Jakesnake66, if you've got something to say, say it. Don't worry about some on here. They tear down because they don't have anything of substance to add. Not all, just some. Plus, for all we know, they are teenagers. I agree with most of that last post. Anybody who would openly campaign for others to quit attending games at this point is neither a fan of the football team nor the university.

I was just about to ask, "Where's Sorant?"

I mean, these kool aid sippers live in Oxford and I get it... If I lived in Oxford I wouldn't want everybody to not come to the games either because it make the whole Grove thing fun and something to look forward to...Plus you don't have to get a hotel or eat out. There is no driving for hours and sitting in traffic to see an arse whipping......
But I'm telling you I wouldn't drive from Sardis to see this shite. Ya'll can play dress up and walk through the grove and post facebook pics to try and make it look like you have such a great life.... That's fine.. I get it but that not me.. I'm a little more competitive than that.
