I can't begin to imagine how obnoxious our fanbase as a whole would be to other fanbases. It would be like Bama on steroids.

I have to ask-Does this season have a now or never feel for Ole Miss fans?

-10 senior starters
-Obviously your 4 highly regarded juniors in Treadwhill, Nkemdiche, Connor, and Tunsil that will enter the draft
-LSU and Arkansas at home, who I think both will finish in the top 4 of the West
-You guys seem to think Swag has a lot of promise. Ole Miss has 5 good/great receivers and Engram, plus a big line for support

LINK

Only problem I see is a tough road slate and no physical running back, which seems like a must in the SEC. Just seems like you guys need a top 10 finish to continue tincline, or a lot of program momentum is in jeopardy

Not really. 2008-2009 we were stacked with more NFL talent as a whole. If we don't win it this year I don't think we're done for good. I have always said we will win the West when we aren't supposed to.

I think so, but if Tunsil is suspended, I won't expect too much.

That's fair. I just asked because there's got to be at least a little sense of "now or never" with so many veterans and your four junior headliners. I've got to think anything worse than 11-2 would be a disappointment. Also I feel like from the standpoint of the program's momentum, it's important you guys win at minimum 10 games and lock down a big time 2016 class.

I'm in the minority, but I think the SECW is going to be total anarchy this year...meaning LSU, Arkansas, and Ole Miss will be in the top 4 of the division, with one or maybe both of the Alabama schools being butthurt with 3-4 loss seasons. I may be way off base and they dominate, but neither team worry me as much as OM and Arkansas do

Is this now likely?

Well the NCAA is investigating but that hardly means anything is going to happen. I don't expect him to miss any meaningful games but if he does, we are 8 different kinds of screwed.

He may not have been one of the highly-rated ones, hell he only had one other AQ offer and it was Wake Forest, but I'd say Engram is a headliner, too. Mel Kiper has him as the best draft prospect for underclassman tight ends this year, IIRC. If not, he's No. 2.

I am with you on this one. I have no idea what to think about how the division will shake out. I think State and A&M are the bottom two (unless Tunsil is suspended or injured, then we will be), but aside from them I don't know how it will all shake out.

I don't think it's now or never. I think with good QB play and if Freeze keeps improving as an overal game manager we can be very good this year.

But IMO as long as this year isn't a complete disaster and Shea can pull some more talent and isn't a complete bust then we will have our shots 2 and 3 years down the road.

No doubt. I just referenced those 4 as guys that are 1st round picks. Engram might be too, but it's just so rare for a tight end to leave early. He might be Ole Miss' best deep threat though.

Yup. I don't think I've ever gone into a season thinking LSU could end up anywhere from first to even last in the division. We're all going to beat the shite out of each other, and I could easily see a bizarre 2-3 way tie over 10-2 seasons

We'll all be a shell of ourselves come Week 14. Luckily we're relatively deep at most positions, except for both linebacker spots :bang head:

Thanks a lot Clifton Garrett, Nyles Morgan, Duke Riley, on and on.

If it's now or never, we are screwed. Nobody ever talks about Bama, Auburn, LSU, or even A&M and Florida in terms of now or never. If that's where the program is, then things still haven't evolved much. If Freeze is the recruiter we think he is, a now or never situation doesn't exist.

Don't subscribe to the "now or never". Listen, to me last year was the "now or never". Because we had a senior QB with a favorable home schedule. But, as always there come a twist on the season. MSU had a deep run. I didn't see that coming.

Anyway, to say this season is our last shot is bs. Sure, we are pretty well poised but this division is so deep. Our future is very bright. With the likes of the consistent recruiting and prospects like Shea.

This is why we love college football. Anything can happen. Sometimes you get a break, and the ball bounces in your favor. But yeah, sure, it's fun to speculate.
