According to the below article, Dan Jones' days as Chancellor are nearing an end. Is there any truth to this?

That is a terrible article. I don't believe his "sources".

The comment section is surprisingly heavy pro-Jones.

If that mustard buzzard piece of shite Phil Bryant ever involves himself in any decision regarding the University outside of claiming credit for our football success, I will be going door to door gathering signatures for a recall.

Bryant is not a fan of Ole Miss in general, and certainly not our football program.

He has never attended an Egg Bowl either, FWIW.

He's an exception. He had no other choice.

I was eating that article up until the author predicted negative national media backlash for firing Dan.

No one would give a frick if we fired Dan Jones

Wrong.

Political meddling in academia is taken pretty seriously. When Bilbo did it, it was nearly disastrous for Ole Miss.

Bro do you think people outside of the deep south actually know who our chancellor is? Or give a frick about him being fired? Most people in Denver just think we play college football. They know nothing about our civil rights history nor would they care for that matter considering that shite happened over 50 years ago.

That depends on what they fire him for.

What's everyone's sentiment regarding Dan Jones? I've been gone for a few years now, so I don't really have my finger on the pulse of things anymore like you do when you live in Oxford.

He seems to have done a great job with our academics, athletics, and just national exposure in general - I really don't know too much about his tenure though. Please, no mascot shite bc it's just dumb.

Honestly, the only thing people have against him is largely "tradishuns." Everything else, he's done a good job in furthering the school.

He does a good job making sure every change occurs during football season and causes the maximum amount of negative exposure.

It's not his fault people choose not to gather information before forming uneducated opinions and bitching about what they perceive to be a threat to their way of life.

Tradishuns? Dr. Jones signed his death sentence when he conspired to eliminate our name "Ole Miss."

That is more that a tradishun.

How old is he anyway? He was sorry at UMMC. They were delighted when he departed.
