Great game and even more fun to watch as a fan that didn't have a dog in the fight. I am a LSU fan but I'm not here to flame, troll or start a pissing match.
I have yet to figure out why everyone is so worried about the 5 turnovers, is that not part of football anymore?!? Bama looked sloppy with a ton of talent (basically what LSU has done since 2011...well maybe 2007). I've been impressed with the QB, WRs and defense of OleMiss, Can anyone tell me more about your O line and runningbacks. 215 yards per game does not equal "no running game" that keeps getting thrown around. What games, if any, worry y'all? (No hook)

Btw, the powder blue helmets are awesome

We got 96 against Bama. We might be pretty banged up on the oline. Getting Tunsil back will give us better options and depth, but I'm not holding my breath. Just beat Vandy and stay healthy for now.

Honestly I am pretty happy with the rushing game during the game. When you take the 3 sacks out of the equation they actually had 120 yards rushing against that front 7. Non one, even LSU is going to have sustained success against Bama's front 7. I listened to one show today where every starter is projected to eventually be drafted....which is fricking crazy amount of talent. Considering we had to move our RT to LT and started a true Freshman at LG, a RS Freshman at RT and then had to bring in a RS Freshman when our RG broke his ankle....we did a pretty damn good job opening up some holes and keep Kelly upright for most of the game. They will only get better and we have a decent schedule to actually get them up to speed prior to running up against the meat of the schedule.

Our OL coach posts here. He'll be able to give his perspective. Proud of that guy for having his guys ready.

Not as of this moment. We're hopeful he'll be back for Florida.

Jaylen Walton is the starter (5'8", 170 lbs). He runs bigger than he is and he's lightning in a bottle. Any time he touches the ball he could be headed to the house.

But Jordan Wilkins is touting a higher YPC and I think we will lean on him more as we hit the meat of our schedule. He's bigger at 6'0" and 210 lbs, but still has quickness.

There's also Akeem Judd, a JUCO xfer who was supposed to be good, but he lacks good vision.

So, really, Walton/Wilkins are what we have. And that's fine. They're good enough to get it done, IMO.

3 Sacks from Saturday were mentioned, were those on Blitz or were DLine stunts getting pressure? Sorry, LSU plays early this week so I will finally be able to soberly watch Ole Miss play.

One of them was Ragland just working our RT playing LT. The other was a delayed DL stunt I believe. I think that was the only two.

The second DL stunt was the DE looped in and I believe our back up center identified it too late. The other was Bama overloading the Left side and our back up center and RG blocked air as the left side collapsed....soon there after our starting center came back in the game.

We don't usually run a bunch of empty sets but did several times this past week where we motioned the RB out of the backfield to identify the coverage. This past week we did run some sets where we left a blocking TE in the backfield.

Some one has said that Alabama is the best defense we face this season, so I think the stats are pretty damn good.

Over one hundred plays for the defense crippled us somewhat due to cramps and such, but this gritty ole Miss team plays for the love of teammates, and they hang tough every single down.

We'll get better and better each week. This team is full of talent on both sides of the ball.
Our offensive line is young but the players are good and committed to getting better.

There is an attitude of victory and success that permeates the air here in Oxford. There is no delusion of grandeur just the recognition that we have a very special coaching staff and a great group of players.

We are not melting about anything....just savoring the moment and moving ahead with confidence.
If you must tear Ole Miss down for that, go ahead.
This team knows who they are and what they can do!
Sour grapes won't slow us down or cause doubt.
Ole Miss will address the mistakes and work on getting better. It's going to be a good year for the Rebels.

Im not sure if that was directed at me or if Miss Dixie was just drunk, but I deff didnt come here to Tear down Ole Miss.

I did finally get to watch the replay of the Bama game, I only noticed 2 problems and they both could easily fix themselves. With the blowout wins the first 2 games I assume the starters were pulled, it showed toward the end that they were getting gassed ( all fairness it was hot and Bamas onside kick kept the Defense out there longer than they wanted)but the more they play the better conditioned they will be.

The other problem was poor tackling, it looked to be worse toward the end of the game, so this could have just been from exhaustion.

Ole Miss has a very solid team and could very well run the table, at this point im just glad LSU has this tape to study.

Slow the roll Miss Dixie, he was being legit which I appreciate. I know you are the ultimate cheerleader but dial it back and don't read "slights" in where none were intended, capisce?

You are exactly right on both points. The D was gassed in the mid 3rd Qtr on. Due to short field position on O and some untimely 3 & outs the D ended up playing 101 snaps Saturday....the is equivalent to almost 2 full games. This exhaustion lead to some bad tackling. I think the staff said we had 22 missed tackles...we have to and will get better.

The other thing that we have to continue to improve upon is running the ball to run out the clock. Understand Alabama probably has the best run D in the nation (I will say my opinion now that if Harris doesn't get a lot better you will not beat Bama doing what you are doing now) and no one is going to consistently run on them. We had at 1 point a RT playing LT and 3 first year players on the line (True FR & RS FR) Saturday night. They will get much better as they get more snaps and thus the team will get better killing the clock.

Yea, I saw that. Hard to kill clock when you cant run up the middle. Freeze had a game plan that looked like he was wanting to try to beat them on the perimeter.

As far as Harris, he has made MOST of the throws asked of him. He had 2 high balls to the Endzone this past weekend, besides that he has been on, OLine gives him time and if its not there he has the legs to burn most LBers.

We as a whole (LSU fans) are hoping something opens up in the passing game this weekend. Ive watched some tape on Syracuse, they dont cover well but they are good at getting pressure on the QB (against who they have played). We arnt hoping for a bunch of 20+ passes either, we want to see him work on intermediate passes. He gets that cleared up and Ole Miss gets the conditioning and Tackling lined out we could very well be watching a Top 5 Match Up come 11/21.
