How about we just fire Luke so we don’t have to worry about the damn assistants

It would make more sense to just cancel football than to keep Luke and pretend to compete.

We’re the only fan base in North America worrying about our assistants because they’re the ones actually running the program.

Let that sink in.

Ross or anyone else on the incompetent staff if you’re reading this, please do your damn job.

LSU fans recently had this discussion. Would Luke allow his eventual replacement to be hired? Would love the move but who do we hire for DC?

Luke is the coach at least for one more year. I don't really care to keep talking about his potential firing that we know isn't happening this year.

I'm not talking about anything else until he is.

Getting rid of Matt Luke eventually is the only hope we have. Don't take that away from us.

F you. Why keep talking about firing Luke if we know now it isn't happening. Why not talk about getting better OC and DC and assistants that can recruit and stop beating the same damn horse over?

I won't Luke gone just as much as the next man but we know it isn't happening this year so why keep going on and on about it?

God I hope Kingsbury wouldn’t be the eventual hire. I do think he’d be great as our OC.

If Luke is to be successful (I know...but just...try to imagine..) he has to have someone like HJJ mention at OC and DC. Kingsbury and McIntyre.

Very conflicted over all of this. I want Ole Miss to be successful and knew we were in a hard spot with probabtion and understand why we went with Luke in the short term. So we all knew Luke was a bandaid. Why are we trying to figure out ways to keep the baindaid attached a little longer when that thing should just be ripped off. The wound Isn’t healed but it’s scabbbed up. Keeping that baindaid on will just cause an infection in the long run.

So the administration, coaches and players are as miserable as we are and know they have absolutely no support

Because our ability to hire a good DC, and maybe OC if Longo leaves, will be dependent on the HC and his status. My fear is that no one will want to join this staff knowing Luke is probably gone next year.

We could go 2-10 next year and unless Bjork is gone, it isn't a foregone conclusion that Luke would be gone as well. It's possibly more likely that Luke loves Ole Miss so much that he uses Sexton again to secure an extension and a pay raise after such a season.

If Bjork and the rest of the athletic department fought the NCAA as hard as they're fighting the angry yet apathetic fanbase to keep Luke, none of this would be an issue.

Logic would suggest that we would get rid of Luke this year. Now that logic has been thrown out the window, I'm wondering if Luke could lose every game next season and not get fired.

True. Getting rid of Bjork is a top priority, which means hiring a good Chancellor is too.

And what exactly does that accomplish? He still isn't getting fired THIS season.

Come on man. If Luke went 2-10 next year he'd get fired for sure.

If we don’t start well next season, finishing 2-10 or worse is a distinct possibility.

I’m glad to know we are getting a new coach then.
