This is ridiculous. Why are we letting the NCAA parade around Oxford. Ross needs to sack up and do his job. The longer they stay and the longer he lets this drag out, the lower his credibility gets with the fan base and the NCAA. They are going to continue to walk all over us until someone grows a pair and puts their feet to the fire. Looking at you administration and university lawyers.

Name one other major program that let an investigation drag out this long.

We're past that stage. Not only can you not name a major program, but any program, no matter how insignificant, who would act like this. I'm absolutely embarrassed. The school probably won't care, but I did send an official email telling them I was done donating, but would be happy to run an Alumni charge to takeover the management of the NCAA as everyone has lost confidence in their ability to do the job and not destroy the university. I can't be the only one.

Exactly. Should we be modeling our athletic program after them?

If we weren't guilty of a single thing, the length of all this has long since turned into an extreme character assassination of the program. We may or may not find out differently, but so far this all adds up to not much despite the thousands of dollars the rivals like to spout off.

Cliffs:

- The NCAA is hosting a float in the Oxford Christmas parade.

- Rebel Rags has won the Christmas float competition for eight years now.

- Terry Warren is afraid that the NCAA float will automatically win due to "Exemplary Cooperation" by the entire town of Oxford.

- Todd Wade and Romaro Miller are hired by Terry to sabotage the NCAA float. Lee Tyner found out and reported the plan to the NCAA investigators in hopes to gain favor from the NCAA.

- The NCAA has extended the investigation another year to gather more evidence of possible Christmas float sabotage infractions.

Everyone is freaking out over what the NCAA, university, etc knew about the whole "sting", but what no one is mentioning is that the sting essentially failed. The NCAA's 'gotcha moment' basically came up empty.

Who cares about the rest

If the NCAA is setting up "stings" to try to catch some booster handing out free T-shirts to athletes, then they have completely jumped the shark.

If they really had us on something serious, why would they be wasting time with this JV crap?

It just angers me that the university didnt hire outside lawyers that specialize in this kind of stuff to handle the investigation. Our lawyers are why this is taking so long.

Ok well maybe I misunderstood what was going on. I took it as in that we had hired in house to handle the investigation

Observation from time in undergrad in Oxford. Not saying the guy isn't abreast of what's going on currently and in the know. He just didn't seem like he had a whole lot going on upstairs. I wouldn't expect a whole of critical thinking involved in any information relayed by him.
