IM thread is a pointless idea. We need to keep the sincerity of this board alive by keeping every thread an IM thread. It keeps us social and keeps the topics alive. An IM thread won't stop the topic veering anyway.
I'm all for game previews. I'd be willing to contribute if given a task of we take the committee approach. I'm always looking up pointless shite anyway. Might as well put it to use.
I also liked the idea I saw about a sticked vid thread with hype videos and whatnot. We could also link all the past Season episodes and keep that shite at the top for people.

In the absolute height of my college lifestyle days (when I was cheefing a lot), I created my own stat, the DDI (disruptive defense index)

I'm searching my Ole Miss inbox after lunch for the formula, but, if I remember correctly, it was something like:
Non-penalty defensive snaps/[(INT*4) + (FF*2.0) + (FR*4) + (TFL*1.5) + (SACK*1.5) + (QB hurry) + (PBU)]
I'm still searching.
Here's an example of our game versus LSU (27-24 lol) using that formula:
69/[(3*4)+(1*2)+(0*4)+(3*1.5)+(3*1.5)+(2)+(4)] = 2.37 DDI (which is
) The closer to one (which would be a disruptive play on every single snap) the better.
A more simple version is:
Non-penalty defensive snaps/any disruptive play
I prefer the weighted version because I place more emphasis on disruptive plays I find more important, such as interceptions and fumble recoveries.
