Getting at least 2 before a struggling Kentucky team rolls into Oxford would be fine by me.

Olenek is ice cold. I think he is 0-5 with 3 Ks this weekend.

Just swung at three balls in the dirt with bases loaded

Why did we take Connor Green out? Now we have to use Wyatt

Short can pitch three days in a row and our bullpen is deep. No reason to leave a guy in if he is having control issues

Pretty sure he had an RBI single somewhere along the way today

Yeah, that was after I posted. But even then he slid past 2nd and got tagged out which basically ended the inning

Why isn't UGA better at baseball? It seems like they're close to a lot of talent.

That's a damn good question. They have a lot of extra flexibility through the HOPE scholarship too.

I didn't even think about that. They had a squad in 2008 but I don't remember them being very good since then.

I wonder if that job just doesn't have a lot of pressure to succeed. I know that sounds kind of dumb, but Georgia fans really couldn't care less about college baseball since they have the Braves (even though UGA might be better than the Braves this year). I think Missouri falls into that category too.

I'm in Athens right now. Went last night and today to the games. It's a high school type atmosphere here. And it absolutely shouldn't be. Quite the conundrum. They just really don't give a shite.

Our problem is our woeful administration. Michael Adams was an absolute nightmare that cared more about money and academics than he did athletics. When he hired Mcgarity he simply wanted a yes man who wouldn't push the envelope. We now have a president who seems to want to be a winner, but we still have mcgarity's punk arse as AD.

We were rolling for a while under Perno and without question were the 2nd best SEC baseball program at the time. MAn how things have changed. Perno's last few years he lost the team and stricklin isn't even close to what we wanted. His best recruits go pro and we don't seem to coach up the remaining scraps we get. Foley is small and there's not a ton of room for expansion (other than a proposal a few years back to completely turn the field in another direction).

Rest assured though our fans do care, it's just hard to pull for a loser...that's the case in any sport but especially for a minor sport like baseball. I don't think us having the braves has anything to do with people being fans of the team or not.

I don't know much about mizzou baseball but similarly I don't think the cardinals/royals have anything to do with their lack of fans as much as it is their program is just bad.

Hopefully OM can claim the series tomorrow night

Gotta think 17 wins is the magic number

Typically is. This is an above average year for the sec though. Really heavy at the top too...

I live in Marietta. Every "Georgia fan" I know and I mean honestly every single one of them are not Georgia fans. They are "Georgia football fans". Try to mention basketball or baseball and they instantly go to Hawks and Braves. I always have to add the "college" baseball/basketball and then they just stare at me with a blank look at say "oh you follow college baseball?"

College baseball is a pretty niche sport. It's not very popular aside from maybe 20 schools or so.

I don't know why but I actually enjoy college baseball much more than MLB during the regular season. I will watch it on the SEC network but never will change the channel to a MLB game until the post season starts and they have a team I actually like (basically only the Cubs).
