You must not remember the Texas game with that DL that Kiffin had that gave up like 500 yards rushing! We sucked that first year at DL and there still was more talent there than the OL.

I think you're confusing what a "diamond" is, buddy.
Like I said previously.. OLine takes a couple of years to develop. Tunsil is a freak of nature. Not every freshman can come in and start right off the bat.

No I am completely understanding of what a diamond is. They are mined in a raw uncut form. It takes meticulous work to cut and polish them. Once you do though they are some of the most valuable gems in the world. Exactly like an oline. Yes it takes time to gel but a great coach can take the quality we currently have and make them a cohesive unit. There is actually an oline coach in a State just NW of us that has had 1 less year with very similar talent level that has at least gotten his interior linemen pulling and not whiffing on their blocks right?

I don't care about Matt Luke one bit, but Freeze's philosophy is simple. He chooses loyalty over name brand. Sure, we can fire Luke and upgrade the position with a more proven coach, but will he stay multiple years. Or, will he use our program as a stepping stone to a more historically elite program. In this conondrum, Freeze chooses to stick with Luke as the safer choice. Now, next season there are no more excuses. Any lack of OL development is solely on Luke's shoulders. His deficiencies have been masked by recruiting efforts, but that won't get it done in the end. So, next year should really tell the tale about Luke's job security. We are building toward elite status and right now continuity is seen as the more valuable tool for success.
