3 a day's for the first 4 days and then 2 a day's for it seems like 2 weeks. Morning practice helmet and shoulders, mid day was helmets and shoulders for special teams and evening practice full gear with scrimmage. Slept in gym I. Sleeping bags, literally the dumbest thing I had ever seen Sleeping on a hard gym floor after about eight hours of practice in the August heat. We still sucked that year.

We did too. I used to wonder what all the other teams did for camps after they'd beat us. Probably didn't help we were ethnically challenged.

I only played football for one day; however, I did play soccer in high school and we had to play multiple games in one day at some tournaments. Those were a bitch.

Walking out of the lockeroom in the mississippi summer in full pads was the absolute worst. As soon as you step out the door a wave of heat hits you and you immediately begin to sweat.

Yeah they were. My FS year we had just enough girls for 1 team and 1 sub. 3 games in a day in August was no fun for sure.

As far as for the OP we had two-a-days for soccer not long after school got out. Basically it was a morning session (usually around 6 am) for a couple hours and then an afternoon session (around 3 pm). Morning we did all of our conditioning. Afternoon was all scrimmaging, skill drills, etc. I loved morning sessions unless I was subbing as goalie. Rolling around in the wet grass sucked arse.

As a trainer at a D-1 two-a-days were just as much a pain in the arse for us. We had to be at the facility at least an hour and a half to two hours before practice (during two-a-days that was a 5 am time) to get everybody ready. We ate breakfast with the players then morning practice. Then we had to run water during practice and take care of injuries (which were always high when they first come back). When the players broke for lunch, especially during that first week the upperclassmen came back, we ran saline IVs for dehydrated players. Grab a quick lunch then afternoon practice around 3-ish. Then about two hours after practice and all freshman involved in athletics were required one-hour study hall M-F. Basically got handed a Subway sammich for dinner headed down the hall to study hall. Made for some long, long days for sure. I was glad for the days I got to be inside to help with rehab during that span.

Our coach was a dumbass who ran full pads all camp and the day before games. We did a full body two days before a game and Oklahoma drills the day before games. We ran far too much too. Two a days were a nightmare.

Two-A-Days in high school were a breeze for me, but once I got to SIU for fall camp, I regretted signing my LOI for the first two weeks of camp. I still remember the conditioning test for all incoming freshman and vets who didn't attend a certain amount of "voluntary" summer workouts. The test took place on the date of our first practice at 5am and had to turn around go to practice at 3pm. Too say the least, I found out that collegiate football was a business and that fall camp was a curse from hell, which I endured for 3 years on the FCS level.

Anyone else have the coach who was too liberal with the atomic balm on the groin? Once that worked its way into your jock strap...well it was noticeable

Worked with a coach who would dip 2 fingers in the jar and then eat stuff. True story.

Said it cleared up his sinuses...

I've met some dumb coaches, but that takes the cake!!!

I had a coach that would do ACL "tape jobs". You wouldn't know if you tore your ACL because after about 5 minutes all circulation and feeling was gone from that leg.
