There's a quality condo complex on Old Shell Road (street # around 4000 probably) that my friend used to live in called Spanish Villa. It's in Springhill, but it's close to your work and not too far from some bars. Right next to Springhill College and a mile from South Alabama.

That's a really good suggestion. Not bad from there to the mall once he learns how to get around.

You grow up in Springhill as well?

live in midtown. i have friends all over the town, but i would prefer the setup the midtown folks have as its the best access to most of the fun stuff.

Oh boy.

Man there are a lot more people here that are familiar with the Mobile area than I would have thought.

I grew up and went to high school in Mobile as well. I was a few years older than the tatted wonder you speak of. I hated that dude long before he became the QB at Alabama.

Yeah I was a couple years older than him too. He weaseled his way into one of our parties once...only party that the cops came to before midnight. The parents of the girl he brought freaked out when she didn't know where she was

He was a tool then, but no more of a tool than most that go to that school.

You went to the same school he did?

We never really had any problem with most people that went there until he came along. He was always starting shite with people though.

ETA: I've never really understood the Mobile hate. I still like the place

I don't know about now, but it seemed like as soon as he became a prominent figure there, our school and theirs was always at odds.

Of course we had just started playing them then too, so that had plenty to do with it I'm sure.

I mean, it's a freakishly nice school

Y'alls tuition was more than most universities though.

Oh yeah, St. Paul's is a great school. Nice campus, quality education...majority of the students feel entitled to everything though. Same issue UMS has. Perceived entitlement creates douches. Obviously not everyone was like that

And yes, I think our tuition is still more than South's Ridiculous

We had those same problems at our school.

The thing that blows my mind was that people that went to State with me either went to Prep or JA in Jackson and both of those school's tuition is comparable to St. Paul's or UMS and neither is even close to the same as far as facilities. Hell my school was a lot nicer than Prep or JA and ours was a hell of a lot cheaper.

I was thinking Faith or Mobile Christian

If he's from McGill, I probably know him through friends

ETA: Faith it is then. Makes sense...pretty sure Faith was on the football schedule

The year after I left we started playing AHSAA schools.

Mobile Christian was a shite hole though, so you should have ruled them out from jump street.

I had a friend that went there, but I have driven by it.

I never realized it was so unusual for a city to have so many schools affiliated with a church (or religion) until the SO pointed it out. Another of Mobile's oddities I guess

There are a TON of high schools in Mobile it seems like anyway, but you're right there are a lot of schools that are affiliated with religion.

I mean that's not even counting the ones like Knollwood and St. Luke's that just go through the 8th grade.
