I bough a bottle of D3 yesterday, took one, and today I feel no different. How long does it take for the magical effects to start kicking in?

You can't get it from the sun in winter unless you live in south florida. temp has to be at least in mid 80's.

That's incorrect. Exposure to sunlight has nothing to do with temperature. It has everything to do with the amount of skin exposed to the sun and for how long.

Light skin evolved in northern latitudes to allow weaker sunlight there to penetrate to the epidermis where vitamin D is made. In latitudes closer to the equator darker skin is necessary for blocking harmful UV rays. Those rays are less prevalent at higher latitudes so light skin wasn't harmed and could allow more sunlight in.

I bought the strongest ones at Wal-Mart and I took 3 per day and when the whole family got a cold I didn't. Right now the wife and 3 kids are all sick with the Flu but not me.

Good job withholding nutrition from your family.
