Ftr, I don't like him now, at all, and he may be a lot of things that y'all are calling him.
But, I was a "fairly" young man out of college the year he won the decathalon and I know exactly what stage of derisiveness this country was in coming thru the 70's.
For all of his bad, I have to choose to remember the good in what and how he helped bring this country together and make us "feel better". Another event a few years later that had just as strong or stronger effect on us was the US Hockey team beating Russia in The Miracle On Ice,,, it still makes me have the chills when I think about beating those commie bass turds.
He's definitely not on pedestal with me,, but he still was able to accomplish more for at least one generation than anyone on this board. I'll try and look past his Hollywood bullshite and think of what he did in Americas Bicentennial year.
Eta: I respect everyone's opinion, that not only knows the bad, but also the good about what Brucie or Susan, did, not just watched that stupid arse show..

Those with gender dysphoria have an unbelievably high suicide rate; it's something around one in five.
Regardless of my thoughts and beliefs, I can't abandon him; actually, that has never crossed my mind.
I don't think I "get" exactly what he is doing yet since I haven't seen him dressed or behaving like a female in public yet. The furthest extent of feminine behavior I have seen out of him is his shaved legs when he wears shorts or his painted toenails when he doesn't wear shoes.
