I go back and fourth on this.

On one hand you have carville and his wife, who are on completely different sides.

Im open to reasonable differences in views but if the person was way left or way right then that could cause problems. It would probably be a bigger deal if they were way left and hated business

Wait, you wouldn't date a waitress or bartender? You're crazy.

I think part of crossing some of the careers out would be the stigma attached with being with someone in that field.

No, i would date them if they were doing it as a job while in school. It becomes different when we are talking making it a career unless it is at a very upscale place.

also the dating would be something serious like say moving toward marriage. If it is just a fun time then job doesn't matter at all

Yeah, but Matalin isn't what I would call extreme right wing. I actually like her.

My wife votes straight ticket Republican every election and I still love her. Even I vote for the occasional Republican. It's the extreme ones I don't care for.

Bartenders/bouncers can be fun to date (not to mention the free drinks and stuff) but I wouldn't have a relationship with one because of their typical work schedule. I think the opportunity to cheat is also pretty high, but you either trust someone or you don't. Having him work until 3 every night would get old fast.

I could never have dated a blue collar worker with no upward mobility. That sounds pretentious, but I've always been ambitious, so someone that would be in the same role forever wouldn't cut it.

upscale places where they can pull in 6 figures would be the clear exceptions.

I totally get that. Personally, it's important that the person I date make a reasonable amount of money. That makes me feel materialistic, but the fact is, I can support myself and my children. I'm sure as hell not going to support some loser with no ambition.

Yeah, I know a female bartender that probably pulls in six figures. I've never asked though so not sure. She lives comfortably I know that. She's a lesbian.

Well, she's more likely to stay put in the dungeon if she isn't worried about making it to work on time.
