The conditions in the country today, and those that are likely on the horizon, have led to such schisms in other countries in the past but probably won't here because we're all fat and hooked on the internet/tv/vidya.

Unlikely. There is division in the country for sure. But most people have enough things to distract them from the anger they may have so it limits the numbers of those involved which drops the odds of a civil war

in 20 years they'll just find a way to put your license on your phone so you literally don't have to carry a wallet or cards anymore.
Just think of it now Other than my license and work ID....
everything else is can be done on my phone.
ATM, Credit Cards, Insurance Cards, Commuter card etc.

Ive seen a few articles about companies giving their employees chip implants in their arm for id. Its getting a little weird
