Maybe the reason athiests are the ones "always" starting these threads is because athiests are the ones doing the studying about it.

This is the extremely sad but undeniable truth. Most Christians abstain from debates bc atheists are more knowledgeable about God's word. Those that love Christ and the word God gave us should be able to defend its authenticity. And there are many ways to do so whether historically, scientifically, or thematically. Those that refute will find many ways to do so and that's their right. God does not force one to believe or give Him glory but all will one day bow before His throne.

As for the original post, God does not care about the outcome of a game, whether Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Carolina or Denver win a football game. What He does care about are the children He created and the abilities they are blessed with. Those athletes showing off their talents is in essence giving God the glory for the talents with which they were abundantly provided. God cares about the people, not the score.

I disagree with more knowledgable but many Athiests are definitely way more passionate in their efforts to convince others that their belief is right than the other way around. That stems from the insecurity or uncertainty I mentioned in a previous post. IMO

Disagree, Sarge. Christians just have a different target to display their "insecurity or uncertainty". They don't go to Atheists for that, they go to other denominations.

Christians go outside of their denominations and focus on one completely separate religion: Catholics

That's a big one, and was the one my denomination focused mostly on.

I agree with that 100%

Minor points in theology dividing believers is ridiculous and pointless

And are almost never critical to salvation

LOL I love the Catholics. My girlfriend's a Catholic. I also love many Christians, I just think they're wrong. But I think they're wrong about something I too know nothing about so I consider us all in the same boat together.

When was the last time an atheist knocked on your door to convert you? Where are the atheist missions overseas teaching to the great unwashed? Where are the atheist buses every Sunday morning offering to take your kids to learn their ways? Do you get atheist fliers in the mail notifying you of their meetings?

haven't read the whole thread so i guess i'm doubled confused on what this means exactly, don't really care enough to dig deeper at the moment.

born (baptised) a catholic, not a very good one these days as i go to church maybe 2 times a year. i do still support the school i went to which was catholic as well monetarily and also volunteer for a few functions a year.

i always get annoyed in these convos so maybe that's why i won't dig deeper. live and let live, no need to be a snarky dick (by no means saying you were but generally people are) to anyone who believes differently than you do or if they believe at all.

I'm from a long line of Catholics. I was Baptized and Confirmed. I'm obviously a lapsed angry alcoholic nowadays, but I still consider us to be a separate religion entirely from Christianity

It's a very commonly held Catholic belief.

I can't tell if you're being serious?

The Catholic Church is a Christian church and the core belief of a Catholic is Christianity

They're technically Christian. But let's be honest, we're Catholics first, Christians a distant second

I can only speak from my own experiences, but as someone who's family was Catholic and now is Protestant, to insinuate the two are the same in today's world is a head scratcher. Most the people I went to seminary with don't even believe Catholics are going to heaven. Most I go to church with today still don't. Maybe you've had a different experience.
