keeps their dues down very significantly

The dues at Bama are ridiculous. $5,000+/semester for Old Row. My fraternity was on new row and was around $3,500/semester. The dues are becoming down right retarded. We were throwing parties that cost $15k+ and doing jack shite for the community.

I'm too close to all of these schools to really find the similarities.

I don't see UGA-Ole Miss. Ole Miss is quaint, Ole Miss is relaxed and genteel, Ole Miss is compact. UGA is none of the above. UGA is more similar to LSU in disposition, I think, but obviously the cultures between Georgia southern and Louisiana southern are radically different.

Auburn and Alabama are much different in attitude but share a lot of similarities among the populations that attend. Both draw from Alabama obviously, and both have made massive inroads to GA.

Auburn and A&M are similar in that they're two of the most 'Merican and conservative schools, but A&M is much more uptight than Auburn, and much larger as well. They both thrive on being underdogs, though Auburn is more willing to acknowledge their disadvantages than A&M.

UF isn't similar to anyone. UT is different as well. Nobody knows enough about South Carolina to make comparisons, and nobody cares enough about Arky to understand who they are at the core.

Let me get this straight... since a lot of frat stars go to school for a long arse time, some guys pay $50,000 to be in a fraternity? Or is that 5k a semester only applicable when they are living in the house?

I don't think that is completely fair, I think Aggie fans are quick to self immolate.

I think what is more accurate is that we lack the self awareness needed so see that certain things are not advantages but disadvantages in the eyes of others.

And God bless A&M for that sometimes....

LSU is a perfect representation of our place in the collective of truly southern states, a fundamental piece but undeniably unique.

we share more culturally with ole miss than most would admit, we are just more secure about who we are and talk less about it. ole miss is learning.

competitively, we relate most with with alabama people. we are sick fricks when it comes to our tigers.

on the field, i would most liken us to florida in terms of overall athletic achievement.

educationally, we are what we are. if you invest your time the right way at lsu, you can kill it in the world financially.

I'm wanting to say my dues were around a thousand for living outside the house. Basically got you 5 dinners a week, and band parties.

The dues at Auburn are a lot cheaper than they are at Bama. Glad I quit the fraternity and got my grades up but getting puss was like shooting fish in a barrel.

not exactly

1856: East Alabama Male College
1872: (land-grant college) Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama
1899: API
1960: AU

[It's pretty much always been known as "Auburn"]

How many other American universities are designated as a land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant research center?

That includes fraternities that dont even have houses on campus

Ours was $3300 without room and $3800 with room. Either way, we got 3 meals per day and had maids that cleaned the house each day.
