Mobile's food scene is certainly improving. Got great seafood being right on the coast. Brick Pit may be the best BBQ joint on the coast. Now they're starting to add different ethnic foods. I was impressed when I was back over there about a month ago.

I'm glad to see it. Mobile has so much history it should be a destination on the coast.

Mobile has a chance to really get on the map culinary wise I think. Hit one BBQ joint down near Gov't St, don't remember the name, but it was really good.

Other places that I thought was really good eats..

Boudreaux's of course... catfish Bienville and stuffed pistolettes
Spot of Tea... shrimp, grouper, crab omelette
Mediterranean Sandwich Co.. frickin awesome lamb Panini
Montego's Café and Bar... fish tacos, bbq tacos, shrimp curry tacos
The River Shack.. great local dive

and everyone had great margarita's and bushwhackers..

Also enjoyed how many had live bands playing. It's just such a different atmosphere than anywhere else in Alabama and laid back.

Their speciality eggs cathedral is about the perfect seafood based brunch item.

It's pretty damn good too. Been spoiled by Baton Rouge on the Greek thing.

Mobile is more Louisiana than it is Alabama. Completely different vibe from the rest of the state.

Have you ever eaten at Leon's? Going there tonight with family. Anything in particular that's good to eat?

Menu changes fairly often, but the beer list is excellent. Best mixed drinks in the metro. It's one of the best bars in the country. Fries are some of the best. Lamb chops are great. Bacon in a glass with the peanut butter.

I had a little bit of their eggs cathedral and yeah.. that was good too.. as were the waffles.

That was actually the first time I ever tried Greek food. Wished there were decent eating places up here. B'ham has nothing compared to what the coast has. I'm envious of the eating places now.

I'd be shocked if Birmingham didn't see vast improvement to their food scene over the next decade.

The thing about the coast is all the trade and different rulers (French, Spanish, ect) brought a mix of culinary traditions and access to the water and proximity to fine growing regions make for some delicious food. New Orleans is the best example.

Yeah, last time I went was a couple years ago before it moved into the new building. The SO has never been so one of those rainy afternoons we're going to head over.

This will be my view tomorrow evening. Except probably less blue because of rain and rough surf and shite recently.

My view right now is ice on my thigh from the dumb Sloot in the gym today goofing off with the trampoline and a 12lb medicine ball.
