What's the most important thing in a relationship?

After a long and complicated relationship with a girl who, aside from being beautiful and pretty much everything I've ever dreamed of, is a PhD, well read and intellectually challenging; I've begun dating a country girl from back home, who's college educated and independent, but enjoys fishing and the outdoors and doesn't have a room full of books she's read or challenge my intellect. However, she is quite charming, gorgeous, and there's something about her that makes me want to drive an hour and a half every weekend to see her.
So I'm asking all you guys/gals who've had similar experiences.... What is the most important thing? Is it necessary to have all the qualities I say(or think) I want?

It isn't as much about what each other enjoy to me. The ability to be happy within personally makes for a successful relationship. A happy woman is a hotter woman.

You really surprise me sometimes, hardy. In a good way, of course.

This sounds like a shitty movie.

Trust me, you have no idea how shitty it has gotten over the last three years.

if she is the first one that you want to call when it's beer drinking time, then she's the one.
you have to find a podnuh.

Important qualities (assuming hotness at a constant across women)
In order:
Trust
Frugality
Thoughtfulness (defined as the opposite of selfishness)
Parental sutability
Intelligence
Common interests (these are less important and can be developed over time. Your interests will change as you get older, and what you are both interested in at 22 won't be the same at 42)

Different things are important to different people.

Sounds like you can't handle a woman that's smarter than you.

I'm sure she does. We'll see how much she likes to fish once a ring's on her finger.

I know young couples who enjoy the outdoors together. Hunting ,fishing or camping.
But I also know guys who will use any excuse to be away from their "old lady".
The former seem to make a go of is more often than the latter.

Trust
Not just she trusts you not to go bang other girls, but also trust each other to make good/smart decisions in various circumstances, dealing with all aspects of life.

It's all about whether or not she can deep throat, and if she is a good cook.

I think the happiest relationships are those in which partners have their own interests and respect each other's time with them.
