I majored in History and ended up in law school, but hated it, got an alternate-route certification and taught and coached. Imo, if you are serious about coaching, major in PE, teaching a subject area and coaching can be a grind, especially in h.s. You can earn a masters in admin or counseling if you're going to stick with secondary ed as a career, so you get a raise and other career options. A masters in history allows you to teach at junior college, doctorate for 4-year (which are tough jobs to secure). If you are simply interested in big money early on, get in the oilfield and avoid the history major.

ETA: If you don't like dealing with kids or managing the behavior of a few shitheads on a daily basis, I wouldn't get into teaching.
