No beaches here in Mexico City, plenty to watch, though.

Dude, not sure which beaches you are hanging out at.

I live near Destin Florida. The beaches here are full of eye candy.

The problem is not what we put into our body, but the quantity. Our bodies are highly efficient and will convert carbs, protein, and fats into what really matters for us: energy. The problem is that most people consume too much and exercise to little. Energy input > energy output = fat storage = obesity.

Please explain to me how a job makes you fat unless your job is to eat your co-workers. People get fat for ONE reason; they take in more calories than their lazy arse burns off.

I visited Charleston last Feb. with my wife for our anniversary.

Charleston is the Number 1 city for girl-watching that I have ever been to.

Yeah, we frequent 30A and there aren't that many 'beetus kings and queens on that stretch. I think it has to do with demographics for the most part.

This is a huge part. If you guys ever go to Europe, look at the portion sizes and cup sizes in your average fast food chain. Their large is our medium, and they don't entertain the option of an extra large. The amount of overweight people in most European countries outside of the UK isn't close to what you'll see over here. I kept hearing how overweight and fat Americans are and just laughed it off and didn't think about it again. I remember coming home on leave one month and stepping into the airport and thinking Oh my god.. They were right. I just never thought about it prior to that point. It's a bad situation.

For the record, if you guys(everyone) can, stay away from anything with High Fructose corn syrup in the label. That's a major issue with the obesity going on in the states. Thick syrup that goes straight to your mid section, hips, and upper thighs that give people that pear shape.

Europeans don't lead the sedentary lifestyle that most Americans do either. That helps them stay more thin too.

That's very true.

THIS.

For years we've been told how badly we need to avoid fats and what not, and now science is coming out and saying it turns out sugars are the driving cause for obesity.

It all started with the government-sponsored food pyramid (which I've heard was actually created by the grain industry and foist upon the government by their lobbyists) in the 1970's. Once grain became the base of our diets, obesity and diabetes have gone through the roof. Whenever I eat grains, I pack on the pounds. Once I go back to Paleo (meat, fruits, vegetables, and nuts), the weight just falls off. As has been mentioned previously though, it ain't for the poors. Eating healthy isn't cheap.

Move to Charleston. It is actually shocking to see a fat person under 30 on some beaches or downtown.

Europeans are becoming more and more sedentary, the much bugger issue is their diet. They simply eat less and healthier as a whole. One of the biggest differences is that they eat very little red meat compared to Americans, and their "cheap" foods aren't as carbohydrate rich.

The red meat isn't the problem. The last time I did Paleo for a month I dropped 14 pounds in 30 days while eating about a pound of red meat (grilled top sirloin) every day. It's the bread, pasta, rice, corn, sugar, and every other product made from those things that are the problem. Trust me, you can't force down enough grilled lean beef or chicken and steamed vegetables to make yourself fat.

I've got a pool right outside my door at my apartment in Tuscaloosa. Plenty of talent out there almost every day.

Public pool these days isn't a big destination for 18 to 25 yr old girls either. I take my ski boat out every Sunday to the river sandbar or a lake and there's plenty of hot girls in shape there
