What would you do if your friend go insane occasionally?

Suppose you had a friend ( not very close one), he or she has mental disease like bipolar disorder and may go insane at times. What would you do?
Tolerate him or her in the difficult position or just go away to let him or her down?

I'm married so I deal with this all the time but I wouldn't tolerate it with "friends"

I work with crazy people, no seriously with kids that are SED, ADHD, ODD, etc...
I just do what I normally do, put a chew in and try to ride it out I suppose.

never been married but a lot of my friends tell me to stay single. They say women have changed and try and tell the guy what to do and how to live.
If that's the case, yeah I'll stay single for the rest of my life.

If it's that extreme, then tell them in the nicest most sincere way possible that they should seek help.
