There are gay people in the world. No big.

If the guy however is a prissy bitch, that wont probably work because those folks are socially retarded.

Let the kid work it out.

One of my best friends had a gay roommate his freshman year. Said he was a great wingman to have around. I can understand him being pissed, but he could turn lemons into lemonade and get laid more.

At least his dorm room will be meticulously decorated.

1. Find friends with similar interests
2. Go over to their place a lot

I lived with a gay guy in college. It's not a big deal.

Really? What if he was uncomfortable because the roommate was black? That would be venturing dangerously back towards segregation. As for the OP, tell your homophobic son two things: First, life is not always going to cater to his likes and dislikes and one of the best skills he will ever learn is to be able to make the best of an uncomfortable situation. Second, gay men attract straight women like an Alabama Wal-Mart attracks rednecks. Women always want what the can't have, and a gay man provides connection but leaves them hanging for the D. If your son becomes his wingman, he could be in a position to slay loads of poon.

I agree with all of this. Don't prejudge the guy just because he's gay. One thing college is supposed to do is to expose you to different cultures and ways of life, and most importantly, take you out of your comfort zone. It's the only way you can expand your mind. Who knows, they may end up being lifelong friends or something.
