Boston: More than a feeling...when I hear that, for just a second, I am cruising The Boat Harbor in Decatur, Al. again in my 64 XL, with the sparkomatic crankin out the 8 track jams.

Dude ... that was never on 8-track to the best of my memory. It was on cassette and vinyl, but I never remember it being on 8-track. It may have. I dunno. It hit around '76. There were still a few 8-tracks around from the early 70s I suppose, but not many. Everything was cassette by that time, in the cars.
I found one, what appears to be photoshopped, reference.
It was a helluvan album though. Helluvan album. Every track was a hit. The concerts were incredible.

haha , it was definitely on 8 track, so was:. Don't look back.. I know, I can even tell you where I bought both tapes, because I always bought at the same music store, The Railroad Baazar birthplace of The Alabama Shakes, and many other lesser known bands.
That isn't photo shopped, That was pretty much how it looked, but in perfect condition.
Late 70s cassette was definitely a better choice, but in my area the selection of cassettes was not as good. We all did what we could do.
You could even buy that on 8 track for years after that from columbia house music club, and play it in your old console hi-fi system. 10 tapes for 50cents

First cassette I bought.
Different songs take me back to different times.

Yeah man, Bad Company: Bad Company, puts me back at Parris Island, and BOC: Godzilla does the same, early REM, getting with my first wife, Johnny Horton, or any old Motown stuff, riding in the car with my Dad.

"The Boys are Back in Town"
"Still the Same"
"Bobby Mcgee"
Not really music of my generation but I am kind of a throwback anyway.

I'm surprised nobody has said anything by Kenny Chesney yet, since damn near every song he puts out talks about 'going back' or 'back then' or reminiscing about old times, that bald headed midget poser.
You shut your whore mouth.

rhinestone cowboy (i'm a kid when i hear it- first favorite song)
don't you forget about me (my best friend moved to big bad little rock after 6th grade and this was our song platonic wise of course)
sweet child of mine (i'm back to a senior in high school) pretty much the same for any late 80's rap song.
natural woman (was before my time but i had the big chill soundtrack and used to drive around aimlessly at 16 with the moon roof back and windows down listening to it.)
once bitten twice shy (don't even really like the song very much but it reminds me of some friends in high school, it was 'their' song, they had a kid at 17 and he was insane and she left him after about 6 months. i always thought that was an odd song for a couple so it's stuck in my memories when i hear it. )

Corey Smith has quite a few songs that take me back.... I'm only 25, but I would kill to relive the last 7 years again.... Such a good time

upvoted for the Columbia House reference ... totally possible now that you mention it. They lost their asses on 8-tracks and were giving them away for awhile.
