Mother Nature

I used to live in south Florida and every generation they have to dredge the sand and extend the beaches the currents and tides wash away. If we have to replace what we lose, would be much harder to replace 2x to 4x the fill to extend farther.

Be glad you are in AR (especially if you are in the hills) as safe from water covering up that land.

Great idea, we can level mountains and use that dirt to fill in the ocean. Win/win. Think of all the dolla gentrals and Mexican Restaurants that could be built.

You mean
Boston, New York, and Washington DC would just wash away?

Upper East Coast is hard rock where it is. The reason NYC has all those skyscrapers has something to do with the granite (?) underneath

Lower East Coast is more sand, and current washes it south into the ocean. In my lifetime I have seen them dredge and rebuild the beaches in south Florida.

The simple answer, now that Pio has posted about it he has jinxed the East Coast.

Hear me out — everyone talks about how the west coast is so beautiful and has great weather.

What if we sawed it off, floated it around to the other side, and attached it so we could enjoy both?

We could just move their existing population to South Dakota, so they still stay far enough away.

Well since the majority of that area is around 15,000 ft deep, I'd be very interested in where you'd find the land to fill the ocean with

What an amazing concept. How long have you had thoughts of this magnitude Pio?

For all others, Pio and this question is the living embodiment of the effects of eating lead paint.

Do we make new states or just extend the old ones out.

What about the swamps and trees

Actually that's probably more of a gif depiction of every thread that Stephen makes on the rant.

Jacksonville is the only deep water port for the navy. Kings Bay is deep enough for subs. In order to use Tampa Bay, the navy figured out they would have to dredge out 25 miles and that would be one way out and one way in .

I thought San Diego on the West Coast was our best deep water harbor and why so much military there?
