If you truly want a sobering experience, if you're ever on the A&M campus, go to the entrance of the quadrangle (Corps Dorms) and look for the extended wall with flagpoles adorned on it. The names on that wall are every Aggie KIA since the end of the Korean War. After September 11th, OEF/OFS, OIF, and OIR kicked off, they had to extend the wall to accommodate more names.

I mean, I'm reading it and I'm like, "yup, that's what we said," waiting for some brilliant gotcha moment.

I'm slightly disappointed

From that Aggsessed letter:

quote:

Texas A&M is one of six Senior Military Colleges in the United States...However, Texas A&M University is not affiliated with the United States Military nor have similar status to Military Service Academies.

So your moronic strawman is that A&M is NOT a service academy (a claim that literally frickING NOBODY made).

What you got out of that letter is documentation that A&M is a SMC. You did nothing but prove exactly what we have been saying all along.

Way to knock that one out of the park. In what state are licensed to practice law?

Following up: perhaps this resource can help people here understand - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_military_schools_and_academies

We're not Texas A&M Academy.. we're Texas A&M University a designated Senior Military College. 1 of 4 such public universities that also enroll civilians.

They seem to take it so seriously

So do a lot of frat dudes about their stupid fraternity rules. It's the same thing basically but corps boys are less intoxicated overall and dress better.

It's always that way with Randy. He is the king of strawmen and irrelevant counterpoints.

He goes on and on about the "fake" 12 man history, etc., but through all his ramblings and photographic evidence, actually proves that not only has Aggy had continuous use (a key element in a trademark dispute) of the 12th Man moniker since 1922, it was in use BEFORE 1922.

I have asked that dude to explain how his ramblings about the 12th Man story not being really all that important until a 1939 radio program talking about Gill changes the FACT that A&M can show continuous use before the Seahawks or Colts or anybody else.

He usually reverts back to that old Iowa newspaper in 1910s referring to the 12th Man. And I repeat "continuous use."

Then he goes off on sworn statements before the trademark office being false, etc. None of it being relevant to the ownership of the 12th Man mark.

Dude has a serious Aggsessed hard-on. Like, prescription-grade issues.

There's two t.u. shitposters on this board I've had to violently shut down and still don't own up to their ownage.

bigbopper - famously claimed that every year t.u. commissions THREE TIMES as many officers as A&M does. (truth is that A&M every year commissions almost three times as many officers every year as the combined population of their ROTC programs at any given time)

texashorn - made the mistake of accusing me of "stealing bandwidth from servicemembers in Iraq and Afghanistan". You don't need to be IT-certified or even in uniform to know that has no merit.

He/she/it actually said that I was stealing bandwidth that could be used for Soldiers to communicate with their families back home.

Of course Skype is not authorized on DOD systems. The commercial bandwidth they use for that downrange they pay for themselves.

Skype for business is a different story, but that takes a special license and certificate of networthiness (CON)
