"Good intentions in the beginning"?? You do know that Hitler wrote Mein Kemp long before his Nazi party came into power, don't you? And in MK, he outlined exactly what he wanted to do when he got power. His plan to exterminate the Jews was there from the beginning. His plan to purify the German race was there from the beginning. His plan to obtain "living space" for the German race was there from the beginning. His plan to rebuild the German military was there from the beginning. Recall that the communists were, from early on, a designed enemy of Hitler, thus his plan to destroy Russia was there from the beginning.

WTF? I hope people are just fricking around with some of these answers because the NAZIs were quite obviously bad. NAZI Germany was one of the most vile regimes to ever exist and responsible for millions of deaths around the globe, millions of deaths via their death camps and the holocaust, torture, human experiments, crimes against humanity, taking the world to war, and countless other atrocities, acts of oppression, and general vileness.

They were very good at being very, very bad. Had the SA won out over the SS and Hitler things might have turned out very differently and WW2 might have been totally adverted.

We hate them because of the holocaust, with good reason of course. That was just some despicable shite. Take that aspect away, and they were just another country looking to expand and become a global leader much like America and England was/is. Russia and Japan killed thousands and thousands too during WW2 but because Germany targeted a specific race, they will always be remembered as the face of all evil.
