Not tougher, just more people and more people attempting to troll another. It was much more interesting then when people took everything personally and you knew that you had worked your way under their skin.

Predominately an UA infestation? This is what happened on ESPN boards, plus changing to facebook style, which was a huge mistake.

When Saban signed with Alabama a good number of Alabama fans came from Tidesports to gloat. That made the Tiger Rant one large LSU/Alabama flame fest and they needed to do something to clean it up. Plus more and more fans were joining from other schools and posting on the Tiger Rant/MSB.

The 'idea' of the SecRant is great. It's the application that seems pretty difficult. But comparatively speaking, it's the best one I've seen.

The application was the same as all the other boards, the people it attracted is the issue. A lot of posters came from various other boards because they were "banned" from their respective boards, like how we took over DawgRant/ACC one time.
This gave the SECr a unique collection of early individuals and led to some "interesting" debates that inhabited the board. Hunter could attest, the trolling/flamming was more unique/subtle back then for the most part. You still had your blatant troll threads but they didn't go 10+ pages like they do now because people avoided them more.

The 'blatant troll threads' is really unfortunate to me. A lot of Mizzou/A&M fans came here, many with the best of intention. A lot of Aggies remained, most likely due to a good football season. But the Mizzou fans, for a while, couldn't post anything without getting some off-topic razz. I felt kinda bad for them. Well, maybe one day it'll be more a good conference board, rather than a pecker-measuring contest.

Best troll (my favorite) was WildRebelTime (look him up) guy never got mad but would respond to your criticism with a thought out response and he would get under everyone's skin even Ole Miss posters because he loved Houston Nutt
