The IOC and FIFA laugh uncontrollably at the notion a union is even close on the corruption scale.

Saw that some voted against it because the UAW supports Democrats, which made me laugh.

Seems like a good reason

Likewise.

GM and Ford have been putting out quality cars for at least 15 years now. Sadly they have the image of the crap they put out in the 80's and early 90's to overcome. Which by the way, isn't entirely the fault of the unions. Ford and GM both chose to ignore the impact the more fuel efficient Japanese cars would have on the American car market for several years.

The last 4 cars I've bought have been Fords(2 Expeditions, 1 F-150, and 1 Edge) and all 4 have been great vehicles, with 2 of them topping 200,000 miles with minimal problems.

I had 3 Accords before I bought my first Ford. Swore I'd never drive anything but a Honda. Decided I wanted a pick-up truck, and bought a 99 F-150 with the Triton V8. That engine was incredible, and my mechanic friend said it's one of the best non-diesel engines to come out of the American manufacturers. Liked it so much bought I 99 Expedition for the wife with the same engine. Sold the F-150(why I still don't know) when it had 240,000 miles on it. Sold the Expedition with it having 215,000 miles on it, but it did have a bad fly wheel at the time. The 2003 Expedition wasn't nearly as well built as the 99 one, but still got to 197,000 miles before trading it in on the Edge.

You know how to stop outsourcing? Stop taxing companies so much and raising a minimum wage.

This may surprise you, but I'm sure a lot of businesses you support and spend money with support Democrats.

But I get to pick those places. I don't have to pay a portion of my check to Democrat politicians right off the bat like union members do.

I guess he likes the idea of future unemployment...

If this had any chance of happening, it ended when Obama chimed in to support the union. That was the kiss of death.

In 2010, over 5.5 million cars were produced in Germany, twice the 2.7 million built in the United States. Average compensation (a figure including wages and employer-paid benefits) for autoworkers in Germany was 48.97 Euros per hour ($67.14 US), while compensation for auto work in the United States averaged $33.77 per hour, or about half as much as in Germany, all according to 2007 data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. For Germany-based auto producers, the U.S. is a low-wage country.

And not surprisingly, the cost of living is significantly higher and local purchasing power is lower in Germany than in the US.

Straight dollar amounts is not an accurate comparison.
