I've got a tad bit of info on how this works.

Yeah I know.

I have some experience as well, although mine is on the legal end. I spent a semester at the Orleans Parish DA's office, which was as crazy as it sounds.

I do think the process is a bit dangerous for a possession of marijuana charge.

I still have no idea how people don't know to keep their trap shut except for asking for their lawyer these days.

I've seen a guy busted with an oz of weed work off his charge in one day. He brought in a 911 Turbo in the process. You can work off your charges as fast or slow as you want. You're literally just buying drugs with someone else's money and a camera you don't even realize you have.

Let's be honest.

Being from the hood and buying your weed in one of the nicest areas in town is setting yourself up.

This wasn't my case either.

It's total horse manure but the university using money it receives for tuition to fund it makes me the most angry

They are literally using their student's or their student's families' money to put them in danger on top of lying to them and cause much distress

And I love how RG mitigates this all with, "well you should have more common sense than to buy weed from a wealthy area"

I'm guessing soon him and his fellow Revenue Collectors will be saying "well you should've known better than to speak out against Government Official John Doe, you knew it would lead to us raiding your house at 4 AM on some trumped up bullshite"

Who GAF about rights anyways

Enjoy your $35k a year you fat frick

wishin bringin' da heat

But seriously, I completely despise the "don't break the law and bad things won't happen" mantra from cops and cop dickriders in the South.

Do they not realize that we make the laws and grant them their authority?

It's a little different for us, but yeah.

I was talking about one specific case I was privy to, jackass.

We don't deal with weed on my side

I was about to say, wouldn't you be involved in something a bit more serious than petty marijuana possession?

Yeah.

The only time I ever had to deal with weed, it involved a major grow and ship operation.

It enrages me, as I'm sure yall ca an tell at this point

One of the best things about our system is it's supposed to be that even if a guy murders 10 people and we have video of it and no doubts whatsoever that he is guilty of the crime is that (within reason) that person gets the same rights as someone who hasn't been charged of a crime until the moment he convicted by a jury of his peers but many ppl don't see it that way until something like that happens to them

My favorite is the bs drunk in publics in Oxford that end up getting dropped/dismissed and people who have never dealth with something like that will say, "see the system works fine" and it's like well let's see. Yeah, charges were dropped bc the charge was horseshite but what about the night in jail I had to spend? What about the bail that had to be paid but won't be returned? What about the multiple days of work/school I had to miss to go to court? What if I had to pay a lawyer to ensure I received justice?

Yea, the system is totally fine

OPD sucks... I haven't seen anyone say anything to the contrary.

UPD on gamedays is worse though. Saw them make an 85 year old man pour out his beer because some drunk aggy knocked his cooler over and the beer cans spilled out.

While I agree, it's not just the OPD. I know of similar stories from Desoto county police depts including southaven and olive branch, I fear most others have the same thing go on but idk of any specific cases

And sadly that story about OPD doesn't surprise me one bit

They have busts in Oxford every March/April after building cases from snitch evidence over the course of the year.

Most of these kids would be way better off by shutting their mouth, getting a lawyer and moving on with the process. They usually end up with probation and a fine. The cops will lie their asses off with elaborate threats of what will happen to them because they know they are young and stupid.

Yea that's how it works in Ttown
