Tough talk from behind that keyboard.
He paid 16 and 17 year old prostitutes for sex. A bit different than 'child rape'.
He is a piece of shite for it, but he is going to prison.
So, how is life as a punk cocksucker?

A soldier, who VOLUNTEERED (pun intended) to defend this country getting killed in the line of duty
OR

No, he raped kids. By the letter of the law. Plus, there were more than two victims.
This is a deep ring from the looks of his plea deal. I look for several more arrests.

There should be no plea deals in child porn cases.
I want to know where the parents of these 16 year olds were that they were able to spend the night in a New York City hotel with this guy?

Probably, "I wonder if our abducted child is still alive and where is she?"

Btw, how did it seem like a good idea to segue from Jared is a pedophile to police shootings?
Because the initial responses to this thread were "eff rebelgator and the police." And that the police jumped the gun and Jared is innocent.
90% of my interactions with the police are positive, even when I'm in the wrong. There are terrible dicks out there, but the frick the police movement has assumed too much in the last few years.

Had a great relationship with cops I grew up with but they were old school cops with lots of common sense and a good sense of what was going on in the neighborhoods they were assigned to.
Seems since the 90's some are more military types and all the beat cops are no longer. Not sure why it happened this way but I can see where trouble has arisen between the populace and those in charge of keeping the peace. Best suggestion is to be cool with the law and keep things from escalating when they don't have to.
If your community has a C P A I would suggest you take the time and go through it.

He actively sought out kids younger than 16.

So you'd subject the victims to being forced to testify about how they were exploited, often by family? Make them relive it again in public despite the fact the offender is willing to accept the consequences of their actions? Nice.
Any time you can successfully convict a child predator without having to actually go to trial is a good day.

Maybe not in their life, maybe pimping them out, maybe sitting at home watching HBO thinking their daughter is out or staying over with friends. You might have missed it, but quite a few teenagers go out and do things behind their parent's backs and conversely, not every parent is good at the job.

The forensic evidence on his computers is more than enough evidence to convict.
"It fell out of someone else's computer into mine", won't works as a defense.

The last line sums it up.

The fact that the images exist on the computer may be enough to convict for possession (depends on other factors like who has access, etc.) but it certainly NOT enough to convict if there's an accusation of production or some other type of activity involving an identifiable victim.

Not only CAN work it HAS worked in the past and in some cases appears to have been the truth.
Michael Fiola
Julie Amero
These aren't the only examples.
Just out of curiosity, how many CP or exploitation cases have you been involved with at any level? I strongly suspect the answer's a number a little less than 1.

In all honesty, I do have to rethink my position.
I remember a case here in town in several years ago. They caught a guy with CP. After an investigation they found he had hacked into some people's computers, and stored CP in hidden files. He would access his stash by simply accessing their unsecured machine.

Free publicity. They distanced themselves, so it probably isn't too bad for them. Their name is getting thrown around all the time.

Right! I respond to a profane personal attack in a like manner, and I am "an angry person".
Klarvin, I'll give your sheer stupidity one thing. It is consistent.
