Hopefully it peters out and dies, but for betting purposes who you got?

I've got a ton of work this week, so I'll vote TX. That'd be my luck.

(Not trying to make to light about it. Be safe no matter where it goes)

It may be just a southern thing but peter was a regular noun and adverb in the lexicon of my youth. "Petered out" meant tired. "She likes peter" meant, well, just what it says.

Now that I think about it, that might be the first time I typed it. I say it a lot, but don't usually use it in text.

How is it just a Southern thing? Obviously it means you tired out.

I'm pretty traveled, and haven't ever used the phrase outside of LA now that I think about it. Is it really not said outside the south?

Google says it was but is not used much anymore. Obviously, from anecdotal evidence on this board, the word is still extant as a verb in parts of the South. Its use as slang for penis is almost dead apparently. I didn't know that.

Side note: In my search I learned that another male name, Pubert, isn't used as slang for penis anymore either. Pubert? I had never heard of that name but I can imagine the horror a kid named Pubert experienced in high school.

With Louisiana's luck, it'll hit Louisiana and Louisiana only.

If it hits LA the Mississippi Coast will get the brunt of the winds again just like Katrina. It's impossible for a hurricane to only hit LA.
