I'm just saying it's a poor statistic in an area where there are no good statistics. College degrees can't be accurately measured in dollar signs like they may have been ack in the 50's and 60's. At this point, they're nothing more than completion certificates. The individual holds all the value, not the institution.

I don't see any way to evaluate the worth of a college degree in anything but dollar signs. Your argument is nonsensical. There is no worth to a degree besides what extra money it can make me in contract negotiations.

Yeah, LSU is in a great spot because we excel in engineering and business. Our landscape architecture program is #1 in the country too, which I would assume produces some high paying salaries.

A lot of people want to pursue other things in college and don't necessarily care about what the highest paying jobs are right out of college. Their degree is valued based on intangible benefits.

Ex. an English major at Harvard

There is no way to put an accurate valuation on a college degree simply based on how much an individual makes on average after attending a given institution. Colleges and Universities are so diverse and have such large student and alumni populations now as compared to the Post-WWII era when rankings and standardization were so relied upon. There is no conceivable way to give an overall grade to an institution without some serious flaws in the information.
Now, you can very well look at particular schools and programs within the university and gleam some reliable info. But putting a value on a whole institution as far as ROI goes results in really inaccurate information about the individual worth of that institution's degree.

The rankings released by US Education News is the biggest hoax I've ever seen

While I'm always enjoying a thread with A&M at the top of rankings,

I was hoping not to see a thread like this until late July/Early August.

We are surely in the dog days of the off season.

Below is a list of the 10 universities where graduates "likely" had an easy time managing their student debt

And that translates to MBA's with the most financial value?

Louisiana State University—Baton Rouge is one of them. At the school's E. J. Ourso College of Business, the average starting salary for full-time 2012 graduates three months after graduation was $59,762; the average debt for full-time 2012 graduates who borrowed was $8,181. With graduates on average making about 7.3 times their student debt, Ourso offers the best financial value after graduation
