Then the first solution wouldn't work either. 2^(6-3)=2x2x2

I argue it's valid, but that's a trick a bit above his paygrade as a HS Freshman.

The "!" means factorial. It's an operation, just like addition and subtraction. So it's a valid answer imo.

Exactly what I just told him. He's pissed my Tigerdroppings calculator is quicker than he is.

If you can use something to the third power, then you can use a factorial.

I'm an engineering student. I should be faster than he is.

Engineering grad here.

Currently studying for the PE. I no longer want to be an engineer.

I'm not sure what I want to be still. I just figured a ChE degree says I'm smart enough to do most jobs and can solve problems. Options.

Have fun with your studies. I'm in that thermo1, fluids, PChem junior semester. So I feel your pain.

I graduated as a CE. I still want to be an engineer, but realizing I've forgotten everything has made me start to reconsider. The only way I pass this damn test in October is if I get lucky with the multiple choice (same way I passed the FE in my junior year).

Trying to steer mine to engineering. He loves math. Engineering runs in the family so hopefully it sticks.

Can't or shouldn't?

I'm still thinking about it while doing some thermo review.

On a related note, the littlun in my house has to write a narrative due tomorrow answering the question "Can culture be a negative". If anyone has any imaginary minds to help me out in suggesting a story line to him I would be thankful. He's in English II GT fwiw
