no. I'm just tired of all the hipster millennials whining about how much "this current generation sucks" or how "I should've lived in a different era."

Why don't you go out and try to actually make the world a better place, instead of bitching about it all the time.

Im not a hipster, douchebag. Ive started 2 businesses, one of which failed but I picked up the pieces and started again. Ive provided jobs for other people. What exactly have you done? I wasnt starting this thread to bag on a generation but instead admire a cool decade.

Sorry if I dont pretend that the past 10 years have been sunshine and roses. They havent been.

Literally everything you listed can either be enjoyed now or has been enhanced by....you guessed it....the internet.

Part of this generation's problem with being obsessed with everything "retro" is not appreciating just how good we have it right now. The vast majority of folks in their prime in the 80s would trade places in a heartbeat. You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

Leave the "things were better back in the day" babble to those who're already going to trash the way things are now. Those who were in their prime in the 80s? They assumed their world was the shite, while their elders pined for the 60s and 50s.

Ronald Reagan.

The man believed he was a WW II hero; tried to sell us on the idea that ketchup is a nutritious vegetable for school children; got us in near permanent debt to the Japanese, and orchestrated a scandal as insidious as Watergate.

You regret missing this? Thank your lucky stars instead.

I'm already on it. And you're able to tell me to do so thanks to....the internet.

Instead of having to hop on a party line

Yeah, well, pron was much more exciting back in the old days when you had to work to get it. The thrill of the chase is gone nowadays

I feel a huge downside of our current time is more and more people are horribly depressed. In a way, more technology and instant gratification makes you miserable.

People have always been depressed tbh. What's changed is we diagnose it quicker.

Kind of like how more kids have ADHD these days. In the past they'd have just been called strange.

No

Not in the early 80's, sky high inflation and 13% was a good interest rate on a home loan

Big hair, 18 year old drinking age. Pussy wasnt completely shaved. Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Journey, Genesis, Springsteen, good times. And still all the great bands from the 70's including the Yes, Stones, etc.

I hold a grudge against the Internet. I believe it's the internets fault that we have the Kardashians. I can't forgive
