This guy is a serious candidate for Congressman in Alaska.

Campaign ad? No thanks, how about a music video: Forrest Dunbar, a 29-year-old candidate for Don Young's long-held seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, has taken an unorthodox approach to the usual humdrum of the Alaska political campaign season and released a music video in which he channels his inner Weird Al and parodies the 1986 hit "Your Love" by the Outfield. The parody features lyrics like "I got many ways I can work for you/I'll be there when you're in trouble/Alaska, I'd do anything for you/Give me a chance and you'll discover/I just wanna earn your vote tonight!" Though the video is lighthearted, Dunbar is a serious candidate -- he's a lifelong Alaskan with a law degree from Yale, a master's from Harvard, and has worked as a firefighter, commercial fisherman, and on Capitol Hill, including a stint interning for former Sen. Frank Murkowski.

as far as the public schools and the crime, yea its pretty bad. But there are some pretty great ares of Jackson. I particularly enjoy Fondren, Belhaven, and when there are events downtown can be decently fun

We've found Obama's nuclear deterrent. He be emailing this clip to Iran's former pres Ahmadinejad to show him that we're still the world power.

I like how she started to call it pot then stopped mid sentence and started over using cannibus

That was the exact moment I was talking about she started to get into that part of her pitch

The white mayoral candidate, Kenneth Swain, is a pizza delivery guy.

90% of them seem half retarded. Just from the ads I've seen Tony Yarber seems to be the most intelligent.

Yeah, I haven't paid much attention, but I'd say either him or Melvin Priester.

"Seriously" is an interesting word to use. She's a candidate, and she herself might be pretty serious about it, but that's about it.

Wasn't he a New Afrika guy? If i remember correctly, they want to split all the majority black areas of the south off the US and create a new country run by black folks.
Yeah, but in his old age and as mayor he was surprisingly not crazy. I didn't want him to win, but after he did it wasn't the unmitigated disaster that so many felt it would be.
Anyway, if you're a Jacksonian on this board, vote for Melvin Priester. Jackson native, son of Civil Rights workers, Harvard undergrad, Stanford law, moved back to Jackson to take over his family firm and get into politickin'. He's the smartest guy in the race by a nautical mile.

Yeah! So we can hang out at the Chick Fil A and church with all of our pregnant friends!
Madison's a great place to grow up and, I imagine, a great place to raise your kids. But until I actually have kids (or a wife for that matter), I'm not living in the goddamn suburbs. It's safe and has good public schools but, beyond that, frick Madison.
Jackson might not be in great shape, but it at the very least has a good restaurant scene and a bar scene of some sort.

I think someone needs to school her on what is and isn't a "constitutional right" and I think she's been smoking too many of her t-shirts. Good luck Jackson

Basically since it was abandoned and falling down, a judge ordered him to do something with it. He tried to quick deed it over to some foundation guy, but the judge got pissed at both of them for basically not doing anything and overturned the deed.
I think they've worked it out since then but I dunno.

That place was a nightclub when I was in college. Fun times.
