I understand that something is going on there, but I can guarantee you that the situation isn't nearly as bad as it is being portrayed. I would bet any amount of money that the vast majority of students on campus are going on as normal and don't really give a shite about all this garbage.
But, I am fine with people doing what they want. I would imagine that any uptick in transcript requests at this time would cause somewhat of a backlog.

You don't have to ask to leave a school. I transferred during my sophomore year and the entire process involved literally just leaving
If you just want to leave then you can leave.
But if you want to transfer somewhere else, you would have to get transcripts from your current school.
